I did a quick search and didnt find anything but this must have been asked/answered already.
The Golf i've just bought has many options. Basically everything I thought was available but there are 3 blank buttons on the dash in a pretty 'in your face' spot.
What options are these buttons used for?

They could be anything, any extra option or configuration, depending on the country and factory options at the time,

I remember in the Cabrio models one of those buttons was to open the roof,

All the Golf have 'dead' buttons,

Check here maybe this guys can make some funny buttons to fill up the spaces :)

Speaking of buttons, what are the three that are in the roof console of a Tiguan? I guess they would probably be in the same place in a GTI or an R

pretty sure they are something to do with servicing but tried pressing them the other day and they did nothing. I think one is a star, cant recall what the others are

Also one on the instrument cluster. Not the trip meter reset, its on the other side near the tacho

Those are options for Europe or US, where you have services on line, like road assistance you press the button with wrench key and an operator will answer your call is like a real life GPS :)

Marco,

What a champion. I just checked this website, and they even do custom buttons if you ask.

Therefore, whats to stop someone wiring in mode buttons for a Capristo, or Haldex on/off, or even the sprint booster on/off

Finally something that could be properly integrated ! :)

Can't find them for mk4 but I would LOVE to have the eject, turbo boost and Hello Kitty (for the girlfriend) buttons.

If I can get them, I might enquire about a banana peel, a red shell (might need to get a red LED) and a green shell (obviously with a green LED) and a go MarioKart style

That will be a freaking crazy mod!! but in the other side, the Capristo has three setups and this buttons are only On/Off but worth the try at least two modes and sacrifice the third, :)

Some guys here have the Garage door integrated,

Im turning two of them into L.E.D volt displays for each individual amplifier i have in my car so i can keep a check on my voltage when im pumping my music weather it be heavy bass or clarity. But having blank spots for switches is very convenient for someone like me who works with electricals and sound systems.
