Hi all,
Thought I'd actually introduce myself instead of lurking around as I usually do.
Name: Sina
Car: BMW 130i 6MT
We've got a few cars in the garage... latest addition being my fathers Icelandic Grey R36 wagon.
After driving the car a few times, I am just astounded by VW's performance and build quality. Which has now got me thinking about selling my car, and hopping into a MkIV R32 or MkV GTi. So I'm glad I joined up, as I can study the Golf's in more depth. Also, this forum is a lot more lively than the 1addicts forum, hehe.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to my stay here. And of course, a few GTGs.
Thanks for stopping by. :D
ps: I'll get some pics of the R36 soonish...

Hi Sina! Welcome to VWgolf!
R36 Wagon in Icelandic Gray? nice one!!! Bet it rides like a dream. >D
MK4 R32 would be sweet!!! Quite rare too! You will find a lot of people who are quite knowledgeable with their dubs.
And yes, pics of the R36 please!! :)
PassthatR, there are some very friendly and helpful MkIV R32 owners here. With amazing cars.
Some very interesting and helpful R36 owners, too. Some with both! Some with R32 and GTI family garages - or R and Pirelli. :)
Depending on where you are located, you should really enjoy meeting some fellow VW drivers. :)
Welcome!

Welcome mate!
130i is a nice little car, pitty the backseat legroom is a bit small. I was going to buy one of those, instead went the GTI.

Welcome Sina!
I don't think I've ever seen an R36 in icelandic grey in person before. I should imagine it is very nice.
Look forward to seeing some pics.
If you're looking at MKV GTI or MKIV R32 both will give you lots and lots of pleasurable driving.
You need to drive both before deciding though. The MKIV :R's are getting rarer and rarer too.

Hehe, thanks Bizi.
Our family has been rather brand loyal to BMW in the past. Just 5 months ago we had a few of them in our garage. And that was between my father and I alone. Haha! We impulse buy too much... :icon_neutral:
But now that my father's switched allegiances, I'm tempted to check out 'the other side of the fence' too... maybe. ;)
I'm located in Inner Sydney, so getting to meet-ups will be no problem at all. :)
Welcome mate!

The 130i has been a great all-rounder for me. Haven't been able to fault it since day one. Maybe that's because rear legroom was never an issue for me as the driver! >D
What made you swing towards the GTI in the end?
Welcome Sina!,

Thanks! :)
I'll add pics in the members ride section shortly... I haven't taken any decent photos of the R36 yet. Only camera phone shots.
Welcome Sina, Love that Icelandic Grey!
Thanks ap! Loving your ride's by the way.
I must admit, when I first saw your sig a few months back, I thought you had TT'd a R36
Good luck with the Scirroco!

Icelandic Grey is very nice to be honest. Not too dark, not too light. Just right.:p
Yup, I've been a keen fan of the R32 for a few years now. I think their count in Australia is now down to ~150-160??
A test drive = a happy lad = another impulse decision, haha. I'll definitely be doing some research first though. :)
Nice to have you on the forum and look forward to pics
Thanks mate, pics up soonish >D

Welcome! Hope you get what you are looking for. :) Sure you wont trade in your 130 for a 135? :D
Hmmm, you read me like a book! Without even looking at the cover lol. A used 135 is another option... a distant one though. :)

haha fair enough. Rear seat leg room was a let down if i wanted passengers and most my friends are tall. Also before the GTI I had a 330CI, I wanted a turbo car and my brother was selling the GTI so i took it off him.
Also modding the GTI will be a lot cheaper. One thing i'll miss in the 330 is the handling and driving position.
