The brace was originally made by TOMAS who are some sort of rally / race team in the USA, they made a very limited number and had a group buy at one point on mk5.com , then they stopped making as far as I know. I tried to contact them but could not get them to sell me one.

I would be very wary of this new website as all the pictures just show the old TOMAS brace.... unless the brace has UNIBRACE carved into it rather than TOMAS I would be skeptical.

In my opinion: Remus have always made exhausts which are very conservative. IE: They're not so much about performance gains but perfect for people who want a little bit more noise over stock (legal decibels).

Taking this a bit OT, but back in the day I was merely after sound (being a P plater and all) and going from a full straight through custom job with Magnaflow and specifying legal parameters etc etc, I got something that droned like a mofo and was tested at about 109db (wasn't happy at all). Got that off quick and bought a straight plug and play Remus. All up both exhausts cost me in excess of $2k total on a uni budget! You live and learn I suppose.
