1.Giac Tuned.
2. VF engineering intake
Did you do a Dyno run BEFORE these two mods? What gains did you get?
I did the same mods as you but with the GruppeM intake (which will be bugger all difference). I did a 'before' run but I've yet to do an 'after' run.
Every time I call IS Motor Racing their 4WD dyno is booked out (on the weekends) Grrrr... I have to use the same dyno so I can get comparable results. I've recorded the temperature and humidity as well as the odometer reading as the 'before' run the engine was still pretty tight from new.
This is my dyno with the car bone stock.

Hi,
I did it after the mod :( I have not done it before, And i have no idea how much my car gained from the mods.
But I'm guessing the average awkw for stock r32 should be about high 120 to high 130

Pretty damn quick, glad you got them and be sure to put up some after pics.
Ask Jig about the strut top rubber circular pads that it would be worth putting in at the same time.

Nah it's not necessary for the install, and can be added later (I didn't worry about it).

More photoshoot to come... damn the best money to spend on an r32..... The GTI feels like a 4x4 now.
Nice to meet you 2 brothers. So what height you end up with? 58 or 57?
kaoticice
13-03-2010, 05:21 PM
dunno actually.. i think it was 58... looks good though.
suspension feels like stock, in the softer side imo.. DD said it's a lil soft, but windyzz preferred it :)

Looks great and changes the car, I actually like the lowered look with Omyants.
Don't think I'd want them any harder for street use as you feel it on potholes and bad roads a bit.

Good to see that you filling up at BP, Ultimate 98 I presume.......
All vdubs are special in there own way.. Love the stance
Looks good lowered on SPC. The SPC can go as low as 50mm but obviously you do not want that setting. Mine is set at 25mm front and 20mm rear.

Always been curious about the power of a stock R32 Howie is saying 125.3kws with a dyno graph to prove, your outputs was 148.5 with just a GIAC tune and a VF engineering intake. How is there such a huge difference of 23.2kws. No way would those mods create that much of a difference and i know each dyno is different but DAMN that different? can anyone clear it up for me. BTW those wheels look BLOODY fantastic!!!! stance is also kick ass!

different dynos, different days and million other factors including to how the dyno is tuned and setup will give varying results. dynos are only useful if you are comparing your own car at the same dyno with different mods, eg, deancorp going back to the same dyno with the same operator. comparing different dynos is pointless.
for comparison sakes, my car has the same mods and made 13x awkw at the dyno i went to.

Agree with yellow, different dyno, diferent time , and condition makes the variation
Nice R32 mate. Cant go wrong with those VMR. I think they also fit a BBK so your good to go when you decide to get a BBK.

Had the intake for a year, It was good (I noticed the differences - freer to rev, and induction sound) :)
The only drawback I have is a small rattle as the intake pipe is resting on the heatshield.

yeah i found that too, but its nothing major, and can barely hear it over the exhaust LOL. but i did find that it went silent after i wrapped the intake pipe with heatproof wrap as it made a snug fit through the hole.
