I was looking at the "wheels/tyres" info table trying to work things out - it does seem rather simple and well set out (table), but...

Pardon my ignorance, I am therefore assuming (going by the table) that if I were to get an 18x8.5 wheel (offset 42) I could put 225/40 or 235/40 or 245/35 tyres on these rims if the car remained "unlowered" ?

Any suggestions as to what width may look better on a GT ?

Thanks.

Phil.

Standard height, 235 rubs on cornering on the 8.5 ;) (ET45)

At standard height would 225x40 be satisfactory ? Any unforeseen probs ? I have a chance for a set of 18x8.5 BBS that I really quite like at a very good price and want to make sure I have tyre options sorted.

Yeah that wouldnt be a problem. Could even go 225/35, a: to be sure and b: correct your speedo as little bit.

...and also check that the increase in track width is in line with the local authorities if you are worried about that sort of stuff whatever you end up getting.

Thanks to all your great input. If looking for BBS wheels this mob has LM style black or silver if that helps any.
