Hi guys,
Its not often that I will share a bad experience about a company though in this instance I feel its necessary.
When buying anything from a dealer they ensure a quality vehicle as they have 'inspected' it and are comfortable they are selling it at 'good' quality.
They are also entitled to offer a 3 month warranty as 'understandable' in some cases 'you just never know'.
As a buyer, this makes you feel comfortable as you know should a problem arise that is not 'foreseen' by either you or the dealer, they agree to fix it.

'Please forgive me if I have not used 'exact' terminology of a warranty agreement but you understand what I am saying.'

In regards to Action Motorycles - I have taken my motorcycle there 3 times now to fix 'the same noise'.

At first they advised they knew what the problem was and can fix it.
Upon waiting on there couch for 4 hours, they came back to me with my bike with the 'same' noise and also stating they had 'cut my hand grips and are sorry as they are now too short'.
I had to ride down to the shop where I got the grips from and have them 'try again'. They reimbursed me and that was that.

In regards to the noise, I had to book it in again at a massive inconvenice to myself as I work 6 days.
They stated that they replaced 'half' of the necessary parts but will now replace the other 'half' becuase it is still making the noise.

At this point I knew they were just trying to save a penny due to still being under warranty but I was not angry at this point as I figured 'I would have most likely done the same myself'

The part where I got angry is when they tell me its now fixed and I can come pick it up,

The bike was outside across the road.
The guy who gave me my key had never seen me before and didnt ask for I.D
The main point: The noise was still there...

The story gets worse when...

The manager tells me, Its bearable so just put up with it. The problem is 'within spec' so they technically dont have to fix anything. AND, when the mechanic rings me back and says - Its just a noisy bike.

I have had 2 other bike places pick the problem and explain exactly what needs to be done to fix it and both agreed with me in the sense that it has to be fixed.

The week after I bought my bike from Action, I bought a friend down to buy a bike. Action is just losing out as I explained I have more friends that I would bring down to buy bikes from them but I would now steer clear from them... Nor would they make money servicing my bike...

Why am I writing this, Because in discussion with others from the 'bike scene' they too have had problems with Action Motorcycles.
I also understand that points may differ on this but the main point I am trying to get across is - Poor Customer Service - Not following through with agreements that they will 'fix the noise' - Not doing it right from the start AND being VERY rude each time I have spoken with them.

21 - 07 - 2010:
I have just gotten off the phone to the manager - Matt.
He now changes his statement to 'there is no noise'.

I stated that someone from 'Action motorcycles' themselves agreed that there is a noise and that it needs to be fixed - He stated - He is just our truck driver - Even so, this is the person who 'MATT' himself request ride my bike whilst I was there to diagnose the problem...

I will be picking up my bike from Action Motorcycles on Saturday and moving forward with contacting consumer credit.

Gotta hate places that have no professionalism.

Good idea to steer clear.

Hope your bike gets sorted out though.

You can double post here if you feel like it.

Do you know what sucks - The whole process of consumer credit e.t.c is just too lengthy and time consuming.
For what its worth its just easier not bothering and never taking the bike back there...

I believe in Karma...

Being a keyboard hero, I'd like to say I believe in late nights, surgical gloves, balaclavas, empty beer bottles, rags, 1l of petrol and a functioning cigarette lighter.

but being a reasonable human, I think Karma will come back on them... aided by a call through to http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/tag/ForConsumers/

You know i had a K9 GSXR 600 i bought new from them as well. It had a rattle in the plastics somewhere at the front of the bike that was between 3 and 5k, made the bike almost embarrassing to ride and annoyed me to no end. I had the same run around with them trying to fix the problem. This was about 2 years ago though, i believe their service department has changed hands since then but it appears as though nothing has changed.

That is appalling . I hope you get it sorted out soon. Take it to the other dealership that told you it should be fixed. Be calm and dont do any drastic measures. if all fails, a lawyer could be a good friend.

Tinto - Beleive me I have had plenty of plans run through my head.
Danielb - Dosnt suprise me!
Jig - I have phoned the other dealership - The guy there was really helpful and said he will look in to what I can do.

I hate the whole run around part, I mean, On saturdays my job is all about customer service and I make sure nobody is dis-satisfied, Even if it means losing out on a couple dollars - It pays in the long run for return business and good word of mouth - And you know what? Yes i am fussy! But why shouldnt I be? I mean, Im the one that just paid their wage?

Its nice weather tomorrow - Im taking my bike for a ride on the one day that I have off. Spewing I have to put up with the ugly noise! lol.
