Hi, I am looking at buying the 2013 90TSI comfortline. I wanted to get some thoughts on pricing. According to VW website, current drive away price for 90TSI Comfortline AUTO is $29,490. Is $26K for an automatic a fair price to ask? Thanks for all opinions in advance.

You can only try. It means them giving up all the dealer delivery fee and part of the registration.

Going through the exercise over the last couple of days, I could ot justify $3k extra for the DSG when looking at a Comfortline, versus a $1K difference in the base spec. It just doesn'tmake sense to me.
At the moment with limited stock, they are not budging much from the d/a pricing. I effectively got metalic paint for free as well as some free carpet mats, slim line paints and a free service.

There was an October Promotion on selected models including the DSG Comfortline with a $1800 or so factory cashback. I ordered the car a week ago as a company car (business rego) and as there is also (still) a shortage of certain colours AND with reverse camera (which I wanted) not much of a discount can be had. Expect to pay around 28-28500 for private registration with mats/tint/premium plates. Shopped at 3 dealers. Just bad timing I guess, plus shortage plus not end of month etc ....
