:)

Did you want to see what it would look like to leave the sides of the bonnet grey, so the black on the bonnet continues from the grill?

Yeah sure, lets have a peek... Can you try on the other pic to see from a distance!? Thanks

Christophe,

I don't think the whole black bonnet thing will work.
I think the roof would be just fine. If you do the bonnet maybe do the middle part only?

Noticed while doing it that the bonnet crease aligns to the headlight rather than the grille, so I've done two versions.. You'll see what I mean, it's only a minor difference but its definitely noticeable!

Oh and I also blacked out the grille to match, just so you see what it really looks like :)

Umm I see where you are getting at gents, I do really like the last variation from John's pshops - badgeless/hood align to grill

Don't like the whole hood blacked out come to think of it..

Will look at doing the roof but may get some more angle shots as John mentioned to be 100%

You boys rock !! thanks for pshops and feedback !

Hmmmm...just not really feeling the black hood Christophe. Unfortunate that the crease doesn't line up with the blacked out grille.

definitely badgeless! please dont do the blacked out hood and bonnet look. Your car is elegant in its way, if u do the blacked out theme you'll ruin it!

Agree....Thanks for your feedback gents !!

Hood is not for me maybe I can pull off the roof?

Roof is a maybe for me. Will you be thinking of vinyl wrapping or respray?

Frenchie

Or you can use my car, and change the colour of my mirror, since it is also OSIR, but black carbon instead

Then you would have to change the car to UG as well =)

Can't be bothered doin the brush metal mod on the chrome mirror caps, so wondering what the silver carbon fibre would look like on a UG.

Probably a good thing too! Just paid $3k for roof repair, but will probably push the button anyway. This month's savings is a write off.

Had a try but it looked stupid Pharkus, I was just using a clone stamp so the texture was too large and the shadows etc were all off.

I need to learn how to sample and then use a sample texture on a selection, will look into it over the weekend if I get a chance :)

Pharkus. Post up a pic of the car you want it on. Preferably on with carbon mirrors, but that's not a must. A pic of your car would make the most sense. I'll do it some time over the weekend.

John: Try that one. There's a pic with the silver carbon fibre earlier on in this thread.

Nath: You got further than me! I just tried cutting stuff out from MS Paint and fitting it on =)

THANKS HEAPS TO YOU BOTH!!!

Cool thanks!!! Looks like it just adds a patterned carbon texture to them. Frenchie has gone the black covers but that matches his gloss black grill. I think the contrast on the real ones will be more silver (like the brushed aluminium). Gonna order off Ian on Monday!

Thanks SUGA and everyone else that offered to help.

Did one of my own chops. Just as an interim wheels choice, maybe the tucked look? Just exercising ideas haha..

Can anyone point me in the direction as to how to use layers in photoshop?

Thinking about doing a quick shoot tonight and have a location but wanted to say dim out the colours of particular sections but keep them in others. I will be googling though input from the experts would be greatly appreciated.

open file you are editing.
you can either
ctrl+a (select all) ctrl+c, ctrl+v (copy and paste)
on the right hand side, turn the copied layer off (make the "eye" disappear).
on the layer labelled "background", highlight say your shadows. (filters, levels, saturation, brightness contrast etc)
turn the copy layer back on. highlight your highlights in the same manner as shadows.
use eraser with low opacity (25% or something) to erase the copied layer and blend with background.
ctrl+shift+e to merge together
resize
save as.

OR

filter>render>lighting effects
play around with the lights and intensities etc.
use multiple layers as well.

OR

you can create a gradient fill layer of black to white, choose a pattern, lower the opacity etc as well.

I don't know much about how to execute it all, but should give you a hand.
Google tuts on the matter, and also check out www.digimods.co.uk ;) (open "the bible")
