So last night I was driving happily down kingsgrove road until *BANG*.
Ive never heard a noise like this in my life.... I got out of my car and yep, you guessed it.
My rim is bent!!!
Front and slightly at the back...
Its making me just wanna take them off all together and take a new direction with wheels.
Im running 19" AMG 63 rims on a very low profile Kumho tyre...
I didnt want to go 18" but its looking like the way to go...
Now im trying to figure out if its cheaper to get a new rim or repair this one...
LIFE SUCKS RIGHT NOW...

Send the council a letter and get them to pay for it

^ I would say give it a go. I think I heard it either from current's affair or today's tonight that some people are sending of their repair bills to the council.
Bad luck man, I always pass that road too and its hell.

Ross did it recently and they just asked for quotes or some such and paid up
Ouch!
Councils sometimes can try to shift the blame, so best of luck that they accept liability for this problem - and FIX it!
Do you already have pics posted somewhere of your car with these wheels?
Hopefully you can get the rim(s) repaired or replaced.

I will never ride 19" wheels on our crappy Sydney roads, I really wanted the Carrera classic 19" for the Cayman, but decided to go with 18" instead.

Hah good luck to you. I requested that the council pay for a replacement sideview mirror that had been swiped off his car on the basis that they have not considered putting lane markings along our street and/or removing parking from one side to widen the traffic area. The responded no in that the road was within the Vicroads guidelines and didn't need a centre line marking. Of course they didn't provide a quote of the section reference for this. So, I looked it up and have a very nasty letter drafted in response.

That sux as well. But a pot hole is different to taking your mirror off. It's the condition of the road that has been neglected by the council. He can say that he couldnt avoid the pothole because that would have resulted in him going into oncoming traffic or somesuch thing. There's always a way.
Good luck and I hope it works.

Yeh I think Ill give it a crack.
Its the pothole just before the M5 Overpass if your coming from Canterbury Rd to Stoney Creek. Right Lane.
Remember me when you avoid it! lol
I was so cut - I still am - All it made me want to do was just rip the rims off and put stockies on...
And to make it worse - I only just got the centre caps custom made by SCOPE to put on my 'BUCKLED' wheels.
HMMMM...
So this is the plan, Im gonna sand down my stock wheels - Spray em black - Put em on my car...
Then get these wheels repaired...
I might sell them and look at getting R32 wheels and spraying them black or something?
I dunno, I spose just right now im turned off them...

bill the council. its their duties to keep all roads in a safe manner and if their incompetence results in damage to your vehicle you can claim damagess

Dending on which road you did the damage, you might need to claim from the RTA instead of the council.
The RTA has responsibility for many main roads, rather than the council.
If the damage was from a pothole on a main road for which the RTA is responsible, you need to send your claim to the "Injury Management and Claims Services" department of the RTA. You can send in your claim by e-mail.
Good advice from Chris!
I wonder how many St George/Tempe/Taleb/Top10 Tyres customers have had the same trouble with that pothole?
As many people have noted already, Sydney's crappy roads have too many risky areas for these incidents. Pennant Hills Road has some notorious holes heading out toward the Barry Smith dealerships, right before the daycare place (opposite to the Audi dealer).
That whole section is worse than a Mars Bar-addicted, oily 14 yr old's crater face! :p

Slightly OT but I was over in Sydney recently and couldn't believe how bad the roads are there, I think I'd stuggle to make a case for 18"s around the city areas.
