Makes me miss the fun battles I've had out at Wakies. These days everyone's too busy trying to get a time (myself included sometimes) but the little battles are the most fun I've had on track.

I just dug up this video from an old drive. It was shot in 2005 at Wakefield. I'm in an MX5 and Mark is in an Astra hire car (haha).

As far as i see it... if you aren't prepared to deal with breaking your car, then you should stay well away from the race track... sure you can control your actions and the circumstances but i have still seen PLENTY of stacks on track days.

I haven't got any photos of the camera mount but I basically just mounted it next to the number plate facing down.
I wanted to try and get both exhaust pipes in but its too difficult unless you have some sort of extended mount.

Haha IBS for sure, a severe case of it too.
Doesn't help that the driver loves driving in manual + sport modes all the time

Wouldn't use that day to read into much though. I was only out there with you for one session in the morning and was happy to sit back behind you given it was my first track day in the car. We'll definitely have some opportunities in the future to test it out for good though :)

Wouldn't use that day to read into much though. I was only out there with you for one session in the morning and was happy to sit back behind you given it was my first track day in the car. We'll definitely have some opportunities in the future to test it out for good though :)

True mate, I was only referring to the rolling acceleration when we were on the back straight together and if you do the math the power to weight ratio's are very similar between our two. I'm sure if I stuck with you through corners etc. the R would have been able to smoke me with the AWD and bigger brakes, in those areas the R gets me hard ;) ...... in the pants.

dont get the tomtom iphone mount mate!! after a year of use or so.. they get really loose and jiggly.. i was constantly taking my hand off the steering wheel to tighten the suction dial ......and thats not a good thing to do... on a race track when you are very distracted by the fear your car kit windscreen mount will come off and the phone will fly around the cabin when you whack the brakes!! never again! i was constantly trying to steer and keep my phone stuck on and i reckon i nearly went off the track a few times!

yeh the rx7 got a bit unhinged and the evo literally had to hit the anchors to avoid it..

kinda happens when air temp is only 3degress, track temp even COLDER and semi slicks that refused to get up to temperature!! Dead cold day with NO grip none what so ever!

Plus there was virtually no rubber on the track due to a bucket loads of rain in the preceding two days.......

this video was the first session of the day from memory.. so no rubber laid on the track at all!
