another great r32 addition to the members diaries!
the GT-Fours are rare cars and were quicker then evos back in the day and looks like you made it a complete monster!
love your current car now btw and especially the wheels! i plan to get the matt black v710s later on in the future. Also keen on HPA coilovers later in the year as well. Similar tastes =D
and in regards to exhaust recommendations i'd suggest Capristo or Kreissig currently fitted on the forum moderators cars as the BEST r32 exhausts but also come at a very expensive but worthwhile price.
also agree on your forum comments,
enjoy the car!

Thanks Paolo. Yeah that old car had some serious GO..Still miss it! As much as i love the noise of Suga's and Frenchie's car..I can't afford that sorta exhaust just yet. Hopefully after graduation though :)
You will love the V710, they are so curvy and fat. A pain to clean, but its well worth it. They are copies based on the HRE P40's (which look AMAZING on M3's).

Thanks Frenchie..Your pics are my inspiration for photography! also Easton Chang and this guy http://ruji.net/

Welcome to the forum shane!
Love how you got a water damaged vehicle and turned it into a running machine. Most wouldn't look twice at a water damaged vehicle but you had the confidence and the passion to build such a great looking R. Love your LED rears and wheels! Exhaust as mentioned by paolo, get the capristo or kreissig! Suspension wise depending on your application I would go for sach or bilsteins >D because of the ease of adjustability. HPA is also a great kit, one that I would probably get in due time as i dont track the car to justify the costs of adjustable dampening but will see in a couple of months.

PS i think i spotted your car once outside Q1 gold coast when I was up there last year and it looked great! good luck with your future mods! looking forward to seeing them!

Shane, your R is looking damn clean! I like it a lot, black on black and especially those LED tail lights which are growing on me the more I look at them.

Not tempted to get the PSS10 Bilsteins from John? I have them on mine and can say they are a STEAL and worth every dollar!

Welcome again! :)

Hey Shane,

Love the :R!

Rebuilding a car like that, with initial water damage is a huge thing to do, props to you for having the guts and determination!!! You have done an incredible job.

Where the parts hard to source for the electrics? Sourcing them from VW direct would be pricey I would have thought?
:)

Looking forward to seeing more of the beast in the future.

Group A Rally GT-Four, Unfortunately i never got to enter Targa Tas....Maybe someday, lol.
YEAH! My 1st car was an 89 Celica. I was born a ricer. I so wanted the hood of this car for my car (lol). And 100% yes I will get to Targa one day for sure. I'd love to do it in an R32 Golf, safe, fast and fun.

I learnt a great deal about R32's and how they work.
Serious?! That's hardcore deep end stuff right there. Learning how an NA MX5 works is one thing, but a technologically advanced R32 Golf is surely another! Mad props to you, can't have been easy.

I've got photos of the car interior completely stripped apart...
1000000000% yes please. Less is more! I'd really love to see these pics.

You sir are awesome and have great determination - never really seen a R32 stripped

You have put some serious work into that Shane, amazing I wouldn't know what to do !!

I think a dark cherry red like they have in the EOS would look hot - Can't believe R32's did not get that option...

Love your work Shane.

Definitely a red leather to contrast the BMP would be awesome. Looks like your efforts have definitely paid off. Car looks great!

Awesome job on the project Shane, hard to believe you did it all mostly by yourself. You must know the car inside out now, is pretty fun learning how things work. I'm pretty hopeless but getting to know some of the interior trims but can imagine all the electronics!

The LED's and VMR's are a good addition, look great in real life!

Thanks guys! It wasn't too hard. Anyone with a set of tools can most definitely do it. The car has been well engineered, in that anyone can take it apart. There are certain clips/screws that only go in one way. So it was easy to get it right.

If anyone needs any pointers, feel free to PM me! I'll help where i can.

I've got a whole heap of VW tech files on DSG, 3.2L engine, brakes, suspension, etc. I'll post them up!

Great idea Shane - use this''The Official Volkswagen Servicing and Parts Thread'' (http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread.php?181-The-Official-Volkswagen-Servicing-and-Parts-Thread)so we can keep everything together and much easier reference. Once posted I will sticky your thread to my post.
