View Full Version : Can a car be un-tuning chipped?

Bought my .:R with GIAC tuning chip apparently. There is a noticeable flat spot in the revs at about 2800rpm when accelerating and i was of the belief that most aftermarket tunes get rid of this.

I guess i was wondering if there is any way that this tune may have been wiped at some stage or once 'installed' is it there until someone manually goes in and changes it again?

Possibly a stupid question but i don't really understand the technicalities of a chip.

cheers
Mark

Hello Mark,

There shouldnt be any flatspots with that tune.

You can get that checked at Exoticars at North Parramatta, http://www.exoticars.com.au/.
There is probably a newer tune or if need be the tune can be put back to stock.

You can call Athur at Exoticars to discuss.

George

It's possible that the car's been flashed back to a 'stock' flash if it went to VW and they loaded an updated OEM program into the ECU.

I'll second the recommendation to talk to Arthur and Mark at Exoticars, they're great guys.
