The gearknob and interior inserts are done by a shop in Japan who actually stitch the stuff onto your original parts as far as I could translate.

The gauges are made by PIVOT and these are specifically made for VW's. The model number is Pivot 52X.

JDMyard can get these in. I know they're slow with quoting (it's partially because the shops in Japan are slow with quoting too) but if you're like me you'll just order the gear and wait for it. I rarely ask prices from the boys at JDMyard when I know I really want something! If that's the case then I say contact them direct (say I sent you).

The way it works is you buy gauges, whatever brand you like, and you then figure out how to mount them in your car. G-rig, you might be referring to the OSIR gauge holders that Ian sells? The image of the OSIR gauge holder I have seen just happens to have 2 Japanese DEFI gauges installed in it. IE:

ah yeah that's the one Justin, didn't know it was a separate holder. Pretty neat you can put in the gauge of your choice, both look good.

Something about Defi gauges look just right, the PIVOT are nice but look a bit clinical (like a watch) for my taste.

Yep it's funny how it looked hotter then, with the painted stock wheels and low stance than it does now with $10k of mods thrown at it :lol: It's pretty easy to go too far in this game!

Does a mk1 GTI convertible count? Bare in mind that VW did release a GTI convertile which wasn't bought out to Australia so import was the only way :)
