Sharing some of my Singapore photos. I have lost count how many times I have been to SG but this is the first time I actually came here with my family as a "tourist". I was surprised what things you can do in this place given all my visits up to this point have been pure business.

Good place for some down time for sure and weather was sunny and 26-35 degrees. My kind of weather.

Enjoy the pics.

Stayed at the Ritz Carlton Millenia.

Shopping at Orchard Road. With the exception of Milan with their Boutique/small stores, nothing really comes close to Singapore Shopping with the exception of Dubai. Wife went beserk in this place and literally shopped til she dropped.

Ngee Ann City Mall. I went nuts at the Hugo Boss store like a kid in a toy store.

http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae266/jig69r/Singapore/Orchard-Road2.jpg

Did some few tourist site visits.

First Stop was Universal Studios at Sentosa Island. Nice but wont be going there again. I have been to the same in California and its all pretty much the same theme. Went there because of the kids.

Second stop was Jurong Bird Park. A must visit for sure and its been ages since I have seen an American Eagle. I used to have one as a Pet when I was little and loved it which is why til this day its my most favorite animal in the world.

http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae266/jig69r/Singapore/Jurong-BirdPark4.jpg

Third and last stop was the Night Safari. Basically Singapore Zoo but at night. The Singapore Zoo is probably the best zoo in the world I have visited. I rate it best because its pure and un-obtrusive and its scary at the same time. There is literally no cages, barracks, doors, fences between YOU and the animals(ie. Lions, Tigers, Rhino's, Hyena's). I have visited this zoo before but never at night and seeing them at their element at night is an honour to these species.

How can you go to Singapore and not have Chilli/Pepper Crabs at the EastCoast Seafood Center

http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae266/jig69r/Singapore/EastCoast-Seafood2.jpg

Then afterwards, a hop away to the East Coast Village where locals go to for bario foods. Over indulged I have to admit with Ice Kachangs and Chendol deserts. Yummm.

A new attraction that just opened in June this year. The Sandbay Resort. Awesome 360 views from the top.

Cable Car Ride from Sentosa Island. Another must.

Singapore's version of the Sydney Oper House called a "lotus" i think still in construction

The Floating platform off the Singapore Harbour

http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae266/jig69r/Singapore/Floating-Field.jpg

Last, but not least, the cars I saw when I had my camera with me. As you know, Cars here are expensive so when they do come along they stick out like a sore thumb and you notice them a lot more.

Cars at my hotel lobby.

Jig, your pics are amazing. I have a few questions which I'll save for when I meet you.
If you're up for a drive, time and weather permitting.

It's good to see a city as a tourist - especially when you're familiar with the city from previous trips - and when you have enough time to see what you want to. :)

Awesome pics jose! And yes, the missus + Orchard rd = death to the wallet!! hahaha!

And yes, Ice kachang and Chendol is a necessity as I was sweating buckets when I was there!!! I guess thought its a good way to melt the fat, especially after eating singapore chilli crab you sweat enough to fill a pool! haha

Your hotel seems to be opposite from where I was staying as I can see the Durian and just make out the esplanade. Stayed at Mandarin Oriental. Excellent hotel! would def recommend to anyone going there.

Have fond memories of when I was there. Thing I love most about singapore is the food. Cheap laksa and hawker centres open till very late!

Planning to go next year to watch the night F1. Should be cracking! I might check out that night safari when I go too. That looks cool!

Thanks for sharing Jig. Would love to visit there sometime. In those early pics are they pulling the F1 track apart near that floating football field?

Love the pics Jigs, lots of good holiday memories from Singapore trips. So much construction going on!

Last time I was there, they were doing the Subaru Palm Challenge outside Ngee Ann City. Basically a comp where the person who keeps their hand on the car the longest gets to win it (a WRX from memory). Some nutters stay out there in the rain etc for 24+ hours.

I loved sinapore when i was there a few months ago... everything has a place and so clean...

Did you end up going inside Marina Bay Sands?? i would highly recommend going to see the casino!! its huge... and spend the $30 and go to the viewing deck... its about 10 degree hotter up there but view is crazy and the infinity pool is awesome..

another travel hint there.. get the 24hr bus pass on the double decker bus... goes everywhere including China Town, Indian town, past the wheel and all the mansions/embassys etc.. you can get on and off as much as you want... great way to see singapore for about $25 for 24hrs...

also worth going to the street where all the car yards are.. (forgot the name).. The Ferrari dealership was pretty nice and lambos, Porsches etc everywhere in the street.. (lambo dealership wasnt very nice though but had matt black Mur & gal)... you also know that anyone driving an exotic in Singapore has plenty!!! im not sure if people know but a GTI Golf in Singapore is S$145k and a Ferrari 458 is S$994k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im looking forward to going back

looks like you had a great trip JIG!!!

I spoke to the gentlemen who drove the yellow Gallardo and he purchased it for 1.5M SGD.

Definitely worth the go to the Safari night. The Mandarin Oriental is right next to the Ritz Carlton and yes, that is a good hotel as well. We chose Ritz because this is where I usually stay when I go to SG and they treat you like a Rock star. No request is impossible.

Thanks for sharing Jig. Would love to visit there sometime. In those early pics are they pulling the F1 track apart near that floating football field?

Those bleachers are actually for the floating field. They have performances, sports and spectators watching on. There are however still bleachers and blocks that are still being pulled apart from the F1 Racing event 3 days before we arrived. I was actually given a ticket at the starting line bleachers for the F1 event 1 month before it was due and had to give it away to my colleagues in SG because we knew that we were 3 days too late on our arrival. If you had to get a ticket you need the starting line position. When all the F1 cars temper the pedal as they kick off, its a holy sound worth capturing.

Yes a lot more construction going on these days in SG. A lot more than I remembered only because I was not working on this trip. The construction is nothing compared to Beijing however. Its end-less.

Lots of GTI I saw at SG and every now and then I hear the infamous GTI fart and cant help but look over.

Yes Frenchie, humidity is bad but think of it this way. Its like being in a sauna loosing all that weight while being out and about.

When I was there, everything was still being constructed but we stayed in an apartment (the building on the right in Jig's third picture that curves towards the top) and from our room we could see hundreds of ships and tankers, indonesia in the far distance sometimes picking up the phone reception from there and the curvature of the earth!

I found myself in the area where all the car dealers are and ended up testing a BMW 335i, their roads are sooo nice and smooth, didnt care much for the BMW though :p

I love the Night Safari! The train ride around the park is the best way to finish the visit.

Need to check out the bird park but Dianne doesn't like birds lol.. hmmmm
