Enkei RPF1's are a highly respected wheel. They're made for racing so they're super light (function over form) but hey they look damn nice too. And yup, the car above needs at least 18inch wheels, 19 even and much more aggressive offsets like the car below:

You can see how the more aggressive offset makes the rim design "flower". IE: the design has a nice concave face to it.

I've been trying to find out more about the specs on those work wheels for ages. I guess an email to Work Wheels Australia would suffice. I have a feeling the guys in these photos were running wobble bolts and thats the last thing i want to do.

quite a few of the wheels from work can be made in a 5x112 configuration but obviously expensive as they are one off and not mass produced. there was a few sets of the TE37's for sale on vortex a while ago but i am yet to get a set of miesters in our stud pattern for sale... i have a set of work rezaxxs and will be running wobbles and hub rings.. i wont be tracking my car with this setup so should be fine... PCD have been around forever and never heard of any problems if fitted correctly.. you would be suprised to know how many ppl in AUS use them and dont even know!!! this is the scary thing.. a majority of mercs,audis etc you see on the road with rims will more than likely have wobbles.. the most important aspect is the hub ring so it sits firmly on the hub like all wheels and not via the bolts...

where are you located?? If you were really keen, i know someone that brings in Work, Rays, Advan etc in. Pretty sure you can also get them custom made to your specs like Jig did with his VS-XX etc.

Unfortunately it's just a pipe dream at the moment. I wish i had 4k or so to throw around on some wheels, and even if i did i'd have to be 100% certain their the ones i want. This is the problem with JDM rims on the golf, it's very hard to picture what it might turn it out like in the end without other people willing to be guinea pigs themselves haha.

The copyright issue never really bothered me too much, even though they never asked if they could use the photos. After all, I used a pic from US vortex member 'Todeshandler', and pinched the wheels from a wrx off the WORK website.
Just the blatant false advertising. All I wanted was to show them what I was looking for and whether the specs I requested would have a similar look to the p'shopped pic. They told me the specs I wanted were the same as the wheels in the pic (not true). Very deceiving for people like Joe who then think it might be possible to get the same look without any fitment issues.

Surprisingly it wasn't very rough getting down onto the sand.

It wasn't all that rocky, might look a bit more pronounced in the photos because its highlighted more with the vignette.

I think that's a gt/jetta style front with a reiger lip. john's got the oettinger kit.

Its a mixed jetta/GT front end as apex mentioned. I really like what he has done with it (I love John's car equally as much though)

I think that combination only really works well because its BMP. Couldn't see it standing out as much if it was CW.

I really can't see the appeal of CCWs - looks like they started to scale up the centre design on the CAD program, but then someone bumped em and they hit 'print' on the 5axis machine :P
The black RS are nice - most colourways come across as hoopty jokes in my eyes.
Seeing RWD staggered offsets on an FWD fills me with rage. Its like those toys you'd see as a kid where they put form over function... like a car where the wheels don't spin or doors that look like they'll open but they don't.

I know 'there are no rules' with this sort of stuff but I've got my own set... (and they're subject to change without notice) :)

I'm sure a lot of work went into that plush golf but here are a few things I picked up from the pics that should have been done as well.

- Door inserts not done in the same colour (or if too much then not redone in a contasting colour) or centre armrest for that matter
- Rear bumper and sideskirts are not colour coded...

The execution on that particular car is impressive.Those RS's are not cheap wheels, as would bagging the car.

I cannot understand why someone would take a perfectly good looking German car and try and turn into a ricer.
I think "ricer" isn't really the correct term here for slamming a car when parked with airbag suspension. I hate to sound like a broken record, but dubbers have been slamming VW's for ever. It's a part of dubbing culture and I find it interesting that new VW owners don't recognise this.

"Ricer" is a term often used to describe badly modified Japanese cars and if you think about it (do think about it), the term is pretty offensive. Basically racist stereotyping.

Wiki says:

The pejorative is often intended to denigrate cars which have been modified cosmetically to give a false impression of high performance, but not actually capable of it. The accusation behind this is that the car has been customized with the intent to fool people. The term is most often used against east Asian made vehicles where the population is presumed to subsist on a diet of rice.

And having said all that (it's obvious the slammed MKV on the previous page is not ricey) if you have ever checked out how car designers design cars, you will realise that initial drawings often feature cars drawn with HUGE wheels and literally no gap at all between the fender and the arch. Why? Because it looks hot (:lol:). These concept cars are starting to be made in real life. 16inch wheels were not too long ago considered huge and special on a car, these days it's not uncommon to find 18inch wheels on a hatchback straight from the factory.

here is my current driveway FAIL.... i had been holding out on buying my coils until i moved into my new place and now I need to mod the driveway so I can go lower... this is the only way i can get in and have about 1mm clearance in the front and a nice 3 wheel... i then need to snake and angle at the top to get in the garage... FAIL for goingg lower right now which i am shattered about...

hopefully a steel plate will work in the interim coming off the curb to reduce the front to rear distance....

Yeah i dont think its for everyone... there needs to be an element of thick skin too.... I am also a believer of the small things make the difference...

He's most likely just tried to brighten up the wheels. Black wheels are super hard to capture with a camera. In real life they have so much definition but through the lens all the detail is easily lost.
