Looks great G!
I didn't think R32 tails would stand out on red but it has really added some depth back there.
Hope to see you again on a cruise in the new year.
coloour coding and more low please!

Thanks Tinto, appreciate that.
Will definitely be keen on going to the next cruise.
Great wheels! :P. I'd recommend getting VW centre caps (the centre caps from the GTI wheels should fit into it)

Car looks great Grant, love the Matte black with the tinted tails. I agree with Tinto, the R32 tails make a much bigger difference on red than I would've imagined.
Must be a nice Christmas present to yourself? Lol
Stay well and will see you in the New Year
cheers,
Paul

Update: Have since added Forge Twintake , Sprintbooster, EJ Downpipe and have gone stage 2.
With the addition of the downpipe, the jump to stage 2 was very noticeable. Much more aggressive when coming on to boost and a lovely note coming from the DP. Highly recommend the upgrade!
Have experienced some fuel cuts so APR HPFP and 2+ on the way, can't wait!
Still looking to add the EJ cat back at some stage. I've got to decide on a 2.5" or 3" system. Any advise on that would be appreciated. I was originally thinking of going K04 at some stage but have ruled that out for now.
Also looking into an Intercooler so I think I'll write to Santa and hopefully he'll leave one in my Christmas stocking.
I know what some will be thinking , I've got to lower it, also on the list.
Will update again after going 2+.
Cheers.

Bit of an update: Have now added an APR HPFP, pendulum mount insert and Milltek catback exhaust .
With a long hot Summer upon us, I'm thinking it would be wise to upgrade the Intercooler to help cope with the dreaded heatsoak and stage 2+ tune.
Which Intercooler, is now the question. Of all the stages I've done with the car, I'm finding this choice the hardest. Ive floated this around the Uk forums but they obviously live in a much cooler climate to ours. Would the S3 Intercooler perform well enough in a hot West Australian summer or would it struggle? On the other hand I've been looking at the APR or THS coolers. It has been suggested that they may be a touch overkill for the K03 although a perfect choice if moving up to a K04. Although I've been putting some thought into doing the K04 conversion it's unlikely in the short term. So based on a stage 2+ tune, how does the APR perform? I've read quite a few threads about how well the car goes with the S3 cooler, but not too many about how the APR runs with a K03 GTI.
Would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has added either the APR or THS with the K03,
Cheers.

Quick update:
Had the APR Intercooler fitted last week in preparation for the next step, which will be the K04 kit.
I've also ordered the APR RSC catback exhaust, as the Milltek one is a touch quiet for me.
Had a run down the 1/4 a while back. My best time was my first run, which was a 13.90 at 100.80 mph. Loads of wheel spin off the line which got progressively worse with every subsequent run that followed. Checked the tyres the next day and realized the rears still looked new while the fronts were well worn. Wish I'd thought to rotate them beforehand! Might have seen a 13.7.
Not feeling my tune is too crash hot, so I'm going to to get it on the dyno next week and see how it looks. Thinking about ditching bluefin and getting a Viezu tune.
Hoping to see something between 160- 165kw atw as that seems to be the number I should be seeing from a stage 2+ tune. If its well under I'll see if bluefin can tweak it at all now that I've got the FMIC , if not it'll be time to change. I've read a few threads on the UK forums in regards to Bluefins K03 stage 2+ tunes and the general consensus is that they do a decent stage 1 but struggle with stage 2 and above . Apparently their tunes for the K04 are much better.
Will update after the dyno.
farkin hell Grant, you're going all out!

Can't afford the step up to the "R" which I would ideally love, so trying to get the most out of the mkv.
To be honest , the car feels like it has slightly less poke since fitting the Intercooler which I expected given its size . After weighing it all up , I decided it would be worth going all out now with the idea of going down the K04 path later and be done with it. Hopefully I'll see the benefits next time I get the chance to take the car out for a nice spirited run. The big benefit is in the piece of mind in knowing everything is running a little safer with the added cooling.
I love your setup mate.. I have a red Mkv aswell.. Actually looks very similar to mine with the black wheels!
Can you post some photo's of the rear, I want to add the r32 tails on mine and curious to see how they look on yours.
Keep up the good work mate!

Intercooler proved to be a God send over the last few months. No heat soak what so ever during what was one of WA's hottest Summers.
Very soon I'll be following the lead of several before me and be upgrading to the K04, can't wait!
