Hi Guys,

So I have finally taken delivery of the car from the dealership on the 23rd of this month.

It's a Black 2 dr 2007 DSG model with sunroof, bi-xenons & dark brown leather trim?

It's been a big change coming from a pulsar in the last 4 years.

Loving every bit about it, so hopefully I can make an appearance in the next meet.

I don't have much plans for it yet, possibly aside from some wheels and coilovers.

and this is the daily ;)

Justin Fox: thanks JF, world of difference is an understatement, everything is so different!

Jig: thanks mate.

schoona: cheers mate, pulsar's letting it self go...so it doesn't look as good anymore. ;(

vanboy: thanks vanboy, definately an awesome little Christmas present, I purchased the pulsar this time 4 years ago too, so I thought I'd stick to tradition. hope to come along to the melbourne meets.

Athrun Zala: they are awesome! in the 3 months I was looking, only 3 private sellers had them as an option!

So I decided to buy an aftermarket head unit because the car doesn't have an auxiliary, only releasing the next day that I might need an adaptor to fit the headunit? Could someone give me more information on this? Thanks

are you plates meant to mean something? or they jsut random letter/number combo?

Louis Vuitton for 671 dollars

VOLK5
03-01-2011, 10:54 AM
stephen8512: almost right mate! I currently work for Louis Vuitton and as for the number combination...it is suppose to be seen as random, however it is the number equivalent/lookalike to GTI - I have never really been a fan of including my year of birth or engine size or year the car was manufactured and so on, so I thought this would be nice. Each to their own at the end of the day.

Nice photos

re: the dyno....did you do it on the same dyno?

And also, did you get the Stage 2 map? Because ur car with downpipe is basically a stage 2 now, so a stage 2 GIAC would probably be what you need. I know thats the case for APR....dunno if GIAC has a "stage 2" flash but u should be making more than 150ish kw atw because a dp on a tuned GTI should yield somewhere like low-mid 160 ish im guessing....

VOLK5
14-08-2011, 06:41 PM
Thanks Stephen!

The car has only had the +1 flash and eurojet downpipe.

I did actually use the same dyno that got me the 153kw, so naturally I thought I'd get an increase...however having said that, alot of the guys were supposedly reading lower than usual too.

I understand there is a GIAC Stage+2 map for the car, once I've fitted an intake + fuel pump! so ill get around to that eventually.

Gti Dave
19-08-2011, 07:21 PM
Sounds great mate. Want to get one off Tim but not 100% sure if it will fit the same on my skoda rs 2.0tfsi? APR lists their down pipe for my skoda as the same part number for the mkv gti but that could just be their design and mounting design? Dont know if this translates to the same with the eurojet one?

VOLK5
22-08-2011, 08:34 PM

how'd you go Dave? bought the screamer yet??

Gti Dave
22-08-2011, 08:42 PM
thanks all!

how'd you go Dave? bought the screamer yet??

I really want to go ahead with it but so far, APR's response has been somewhat unhelpful. They list theirs as the same part numbers for the skoda as it is for the mkV gti but when they replied, they said they "fit it up against it" what ever that means. Awesome-gti-co.uk replied in no time as said they should be the same for the downpipe but different for catback. Milltek website doesn't help either as they don't list part numbers. Unless Tim is happy enough for me to buy it and offer an refund if it don't t fit then I'm stuck. So if i were to be 100% sure of fitment then I have to go Miltek which will cost me a lot more and they don't look as pretty as the eurojet one. Can anyone help? My Skoda is the prefacelift one with the same engine as the mkV gti's TFSI.

I care about the paintwork more though

Cars looking nice mate! I love the stealth look.. And the wheels are amazing.

Quick question:
What did they do with the inner lining once they rolled the guards.. And how much did it set you back? Considering doing this mod soon on mine.

thanks brother!

we kept the inner lining in place and is currently wedged between the folded lip and the guard - so I don't think it will be going anywhere?

as for the guard work it cost me $70 a corner, he is actually quite a well known guard roller in the sth east suburbs of melb amongst the jap car scene! I would recommend his work, even though its not going to make a difference with my wheels ;)

Nice bro!

But where's the "RAYS" logo? Or is it so well hidden that it's only visible under UV light? :P

hey John I think all of us amateurs need someone to start a thread on how to best photograph black :)

no UV required, I can just make the logo out on the cap on the left with plastic on ;)

I'm sure there are better photogs out there than me. Just got my new flash though so keen to try that out.

Try overexposing the shot a bit to bring out some more detail. Or you could try a HDR shot, but black generally is a bitch to shoot.

Get 215/40/18 or 225/40/18 tyres, stretch em on and you will able to many more low :D

Fuck yeah! It's a start kynezy...the front looks almost perfect, the rear should be able to go much lower..

Yeah I agree with MK, get some stretch happening on narrower tyres and maybe stay with a 40 profile..45 makes it look so big and bubbly :D

Tim

The rear can go lower but not till it has narrower tyres. Its raised as high as it goes in the rear at the minute. Those wheels just have a massive amount of poke and any lower it will rub.
Pictures dont do it justice either. Looks pretty tough in the flesh.

yeah thats why I've decided to sell up, now just waiting on someone to buy the current tyres! might be pretty hard considering everyone keeps name dropping 'tire-rack' or whatever you call them? what are the savings anyway... 50%?

CSR

Kynezy tirerack yeah is like 50% cheaper than local but consider it costs also $260 to ship a set of 4 tyres so for cheaper tyres the costs end up being quite similar. For something like the michelin super sport which are like $500 a corner here in Aus it's worth buying O/S.
