Yesterday I had the opportunity to carry out a Mini Detail on Johno's beautiful silver R32.>D
Didnt really capture the whole process but did manage to get some before and after pics.
Overall the car wasnt too bad but for a car which lives outside it did have your usual dust and paint contaminants.

The process was:
Wheels and arches were treated with Autosmart degreaser diluted 6:1. Arches were given a light scrub and pressure cleaned. a Laitner Spoke Slot brush was used to clean the inner rim and a small paint brush was used to clean the outer rim and between the spokes.

Next was cleaning all the door, boot and bonnet jambs. I used an All Purpose Cleaner (APC) diluted at 5:1 and sprayed it in the areas and agitated with a brush then pressure cleaned off.
I then moved on to foaming the car with Driven Wash concentrate solution and let it sit for a couple minutes. This helps loosen up light dirt and dust so when you do the actual wash on your car there will be less contaminants on the surface which will reduce the chances of inducing swirls.

After it was washed and rinsed down I then clayed the car to remove paint contaminants. Overall the car wasnt too bad but it did have some bird stains on the bonnet and roof and light tar splatter along the side skirts. The car was rinsed down and dried after it was clayed.
The inside of the car was pretty clean except for the usual grass and dirt you get on the carpets so the inside got a basic vacuum and wipe down.
Now for the icing on the cake I used a polymer sealant mainly for its durability as Johno mentioned that it lives outside most of the time.
I used Driven Automotive polish and applied this by hand with a foam applicator pad.
I applied it to the whole vehicle before going around again to buff off the residue.
The R32 should see about 5-6 months protection from this.
Here are the after shots.
