Mk3 Golf GL, daily beater! (many many pics)

Hi all!

I run a Mk3 Golf GL, 1995 in candy white. Came with the textured mouldings and bumpers, and had no sideskirts. Engine is a 2.0L 8V.

I've done a number of mods to it, admittedly mainly all are pretty useless on my car, but it was a way for me to learn my car mechanically as this is my first car. So far the things I've done, in no particular order:

BBS RS702 17x8 ET35 5x112, adapted to 5x100, 15mm front 25mm rear. Pirelli PZero Nero 195/40R17.

VR6 front subframe swap, inc. front swaybar and LCA
R32 control arm bushings (solid)
VR6 driveshafts (EMPI aftermarket - narrowed for clearance)
VR6 288mm brakes
Hottuning coilovers (height adjustable only)
VR6 heavy duty strut mounts
BFI poly engine mounts (Stealth range)

K&N panel filter (modded airbox)
Blocked PCV w/ BFI engine breather adapter --> oil catch can
Battery relocated to hatch
Autotech short shifter
Painted engine block
A/C delete running VR6 waterpump pulley
Power-steering bottle relocated (Verdict Motorsport kit)
Half-assed wire-tuck

Shaved front bumper (indicator/fog cluster only)
Antenna delete
Rear spoiler delete
OEM sideskirts added on

Custom headliner and pillars wrapped
VR6 seats (mismatched front and rear though)
Custom shift boot (thanks Grandma)
Momo leather gear knob
Late model glovebox
Clarion headunit + components + sub (custom enclosure)
Audison amp

Thule 404 roofracks
Thule 871 fairing

The car went from being a clean, common stocker into a scene-loving shitbox :rolleyes:

Then decided to keep it. But I wanted to go lower - so I bought some Ground Control coilover sleeves that fit over my Koni struts. Got me down a little lower:

Still not enough low, so sold my GC coilover sleeves and Koni struts to a fellow dubber and bought a set of cheap Hottuning coilovers - designed to go low, and that's about it. Also got my 450D at the time:

Had a pretty bad accident a few months after that. Crossmember and tie-rod was bent, crossmember mounts were torn, power-steering pump bracket bent. Towed it back home, removed engine and subframe for replacing. Had everything aligned elsewhere while I "detailed" the engine and gearbox. Replaced a lot of parts, and "detailed" the engine bay while I was at it. Wire-tucked as much as I could.

So that's my story thus far. It's gonna remain a shitbox 'til I can afford another car. I'd love to change wheels every half-year (if I can find suitable replacements!) and just leave it as that.

Great headliner and love the pink rims mate! Never had much interest in old golfs but pics from SEDF and others of slammed Mk1, 2 and 3's have changed that.
