I've been looking at these for a little while, you find them at < www.k-mac.com > and just recently I noticed the VW page on the website change a little.

They now have mention of not having to remove the struts to adjust the camber and caster. So does this mean that other brands you have to take the strut out to make an adjustment?

If so, I would think the K-Mac kit must be much more useful.

Can we have any first hand experience here?

Yes, work well. We have installed a few here. Check White-line products also not bad (suspension bits on MkV that I know of)

they are noisy as fcuk.... don't get them if you care about NVH.

K-Mac claim to have revised the design after i demanded a refund...

So was the design modified? What kind of noise are you talking about?

I might email K-Mac and ask them. As for Whiteline, if K-Mac is the only one that's adjustable without removing it, what's the point of getting one that you can't?

The noise is like a crashing/banging in the front, like someone is hitting your struts with a hammer every time you hit a bump.

All camber kits are adjustable without removing the shock from the car. With kits like H2Sport/Ground control/KW you need to jack up the car and loosen the top mount to adjust CASTER.. but thats something you rarely adjust. CAMBER can be adjusted on ALL KITS without removing the kit from the car.

The problem with the KMAC kit is there is simply too much adjustment, you cannot adjust the settings and then return them to standard because they don't slide on an axis, they completely float.

Talked to a friend of mine who had the K-Mac strut tops on his car and he reckoned that was the good thing, that the wheel aligner could get the settings perfect, they could change them, and with the marks on the central piece they could get them back where they had them no trouble at all.

You seem to have had a bad experience and want to badmouth K-Mac for some reason. Didn't they give you your money back?

Careful... i'm not badmouthing their product. Do a google search on k-mac camber kit reviews on MkV/VI golfs.

I'm simply giving you a first hand review of my experiences with them. K-mac claimed their stage 2 kit would have NO NOISE WHATSOEVER. this was simply not the case, and i spent two days at Kmac trying to modify the tops and resolve the crashing and banging. Their mechanics are butchers and i'd never let them touch another car of mine, but beside that, they could not recitfy the issue. They gave me my money back after some heated negotiations, and an amount of damage to my car.

What i found most concerning is that Kevin, the designer and manufacturer, had never been in a golf with his camber kit installed... go figure.

Yes. Was a shit fight just getting them installed. Got some of my money back. Long story, but I don't want to relive it.

I would say if you REALLY, REALLY want camber, to go with a brand like KW or something. You will still have increased NVH no matter which brand you pick though.

All i can say is changing your camber in 30 seconds is a crock of sh*t. Every adjustment requires a wheel alignment.

and this is why i have a set of KW mounts waiting to be installed.
