FAIL! Not to my liking but to each their own.
...they missed painting the front and rear badges and wheels white.
and the windows... and the tyres... and the lights... and the wipers...

White sidewalls! That's what they need.

I didn't know Pauline H was a V Dubber. :)
Two wrongs don't make a right - or the paint shop didn't want to right a w(r)ong. Maybe this a Perf trend? Enlighten the rust belt, please!
I just noticed a card or license attached inside the bottom right side of the windscreen. Is that a disability pass? Maybe the person really likes the hospital look?
Makes me think of these lyrics - 'White lines - don't do it!' (http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/white-lines-lyrics-duran-duran/05c49f3cf08fbe064825687400150d1f)

I didn't think it was too bad til I saw the front! Back looks much nicer colour coded, but the front.. yes indeed overcooked.
It might have been an auction car / repaired wreck. I've seen that quite a bit when shopping for used cars for friends in the past. Dumbasses don't realise it's a good way to draw attention to the fact it's been repaired.
i would love to know how is front end will pull up after a drive in the country. judging from the quality of the paint (yes it was terrible in real life) i doubt they did much prep on it.
Looks like it is parked at a university, poor taste. Looks terrible

I hope the owner doesn't come on board to read all this negativity :(

its not negativity, its constructive criticism! ;)
in the owners defense, i do recall that car being forsale at VW Wangarra so odds are the person bought it in that 'state'

THE EXPLODING LIQUID PAPER INCIDENT OF 2009
The centre front end of that car would have been colour coded white to begin with (black nose kicked off on the GT Sport).
GT Sports also got the darker headlight surround, which would have helped in this case by breaking it up a little.
so they've only coloured in the grills really... which would be pretty tough without a lot of filler IMO.
I'm with Mark - I think that will chip out pretty quickly.
But it is amazing what some contrast does to a front end (or lack thereof).

omg thats horrible, i believe there was one running around in sydney before lol
like Martin i too noticed it was an early GT (non sport one)
but they even painted the grills on either side of the VW badge...

Too much colour coding has turned a potentially classy car into a bland car :(
I'm sure I've seen that car advertised on carsales/drive late last year.
The rear looks nice, but way too overdone for the front end.

Yeah i've seen this car somewhere too, maybe a thread on mkv? Or maybe carsales, but I know i've seen it.
Too much, needs black grills to break it up..

Yeah i posted it up on golfmkv.com last year.
I can't believe someone actually bought it.
For not much money you could buy new trim pieces and restore back to it's orginal state.
The two fog light covers are only $18 each and the lower grille is like $38.

I knew that i'd seen it before.
Thats not too shabby cost wise to get it looking decent again.
The new owners probably don't even know that there meant to be black.

Definitely got too carried away, I also think the GT/std model lower bumpers don't look good colour coded, they really need the GTI/R32 style to break up all of the.... shall we say? 'whiteness'

That is quite hideous I have to say,
It would probably look a lot better if the car was black and it was done all BLACK rather than having everything white to match the cars colour

I definitely prefer the look of my GT with black trim at the front. At the rear I prefer colour coding but only if its the GTI valance. The GT one is WAY too phat arse looking for all white
