MrX's TR MKVI GTI

Hey all,

Starting this thread on behalf of my mate Chris (MrX on the forum) who just picked up his new GTI this afternoon. Its been a long and arduous wait (and a fair bit of fighting and stuffing around these past couple of weeks) but the wait is finally over and the smile on his face couldn't have been bigger this evening when we took the GTI's out to dinner.

Bixenons (with the new audi inspired DRL's)

Planned mods:

Stage 1 Bluefin (already purchased hehe)
Some interior goodies
Possibly an exhaust
Airfilter/intake

Very nice Cam... Those DRL's are stock with the bi-xenon option right ?? Probably same lights as the R??

I'm yet to see those DRLs over here in the West.

Yep the drls now come stock with my11 onwards gti's equipped with xenons.
They are different to the R's drl led strip. They are brighter than the R's too I think.

Ive had an R behind me previously and Chris's gti last night and the new Gti drls are more noticeable. Definitely more of a 'wow' factor when you see them in the rear vision mirror. Both are very bright.

Thanks Cam, my photgraphy Skills are how do you say "poor" to say the least.

Yes Finally I picked up the car yesterday and put nearly 200k's since. I driven and owned alot of cars previous to this one but nothing puts a bigger smile on my face. Thanks to Cam that got me started on Volkswagen's in the first place and now my wife and I can enjoy ours.

The DRL's are reallly better in reallife than on photo's its was quite suprising.

only on the Adidas version for the moment, the dealer could not give me a definate answer when i picked up the car as a friend asked me to ask the dealer.

It was an exciting night all round.

I was just as excited as Chris was. In a way we had been through the wait together. Some weeks Chris got a bit down with the wait so thats when I gave him the keys to mine and we went for a spin. Every time we went for a drive he said to me "This is gonna be worth the wait" and he couldn't be happier.

I had a drive last night and the new GTI is really nice to drive most noticeably I think the biggest change is the suspension setup. It's so firm yet so comfortable and the ride on the 18's is incredible. Nice to feel the differences in a proper drive.

Red pops and stand out so much (in a good way) on the GTI.... love it.

Yeah MrX is ecstatic, he is in love.

We'll both be at the cruise to Berry. I might be tagging along with Chris in his GTI...not sure if I'll drive yet.
I may do...will wait and see.
