Nice pointers here! I think we also need pretty long lenses for this.
For Wakefield, you definitely need a 300mm. Robby used my camera with the 200mm and it is just not long enough.
But you can't get around Wakefield. It only has 1 place to shoot. The straight.
The writer is referring to much larger tracks with vantage points is multiple locations. There's no way even a 300mm would see you shoot anything up at the top of Wakefield. It's not to be taken literally for all scenarios. They're pointers bud. ;)
You have to excuse me. A 300mm with 2x extender. Also you can shoot the first right hand corner from near the control tower. Don't you have the shots, buddy?
Unfortunately, none. Fried SSD. Remember?
thats for the awesome link John!

Great pointers on settings and composition - thanks for posting it up!
I always expect to have 90% crap shots when shooting motorsport :)
that way I don't end up disappointed, but chew through batteries.
Canon image stabilising lenses usually operate in two ways too... Either pan mode or multi- directional. Pan is obviously best in this case.
