Thinking to the future about my next car. I've long been impressed with the look of the Audi A8. There are year 2005/6 vehicles that can be had for $60K to $69K. Bearing in mind, we're talking about a car that cost around $200K new.

Naturally, there's more to a car than just looks. Does anyone have any information on them, good or bad?

a mates dad traded his Q7 for one.

it was a 2008 from memoy so it was the updated model. looks great and is amazingly comfortable. they have the 4.2V8 so its pretty brisk but it loves a drink. i hear the TDIs are the way to go, not only are they faster but theyre also more fuel efficient.

they are a hell of a lot of car for the money but i hate to think what it will cost when something goes wrong

I think that's one of the things that worries me. Fingerprint recognition technology. Self levelling air suspension. Electric this, electric that. All these things are fine, until they start to play up. Still, I suppose the same could be said of the Golf range. A seemingly endless stream if gizmos and gadgets that can all go bellyup.

that said its an amazing car to be in. so smooth and relaxing. it also looks fantastic... for such an expensive car its quite understated... very classy

it also wont start unless you are in a business suit

Guy on my street has the first aluminium chassis one (don't know the model or year. Other than replacement of the factory fuel pump he hasn't had much trouble with it. Also have you considered how much of a bother it will be to park that monster?

Still nice as a big bad cruiser.

The advanced electronic would be the bane of this car.
Sadly. And would be the most expensive thing to repair too.
