Fast acceleration, high speed cornering and hard braking brings the best out of the S.drive. It suits high horsepower cars with big wheels that require low profile tyres. Ideal for demanding drivers and performance cars like HSV, FPV, AMG, M Sport, Nissan GTR, WRX & Evo.

Yokohama S.drive (AS01) For The Fast & The Furious.

A sporty tyre tuned for enthusiasts who want to feel connected to the road.

Using nanotechnology, Yokohama engineers have created a silica-based comound to conform to the road surface, maximizing grip in both wet and dry condtions, while the rayon carcass construction protects the tyre against heat for enhanced durability at high speeds.

Features:

1. Nanotechnology tread compound
2. Large rigid tread blocks
3. Rayon carcass construction
4. 4 wide grooves
5. Tight grooves
6. Stiff side walls

So if I want a tyre in the 195/50R15 fitment that will hold up to the track days once every couple of months and then out and about for general duties the rest of the time - what would you select?

I have considered the S-Drive, but the guys at Gordon Levin tyres said that they will probably not hold up on the track due to the sidewall still being a bit supple for read use.

Your opinions?

for something that spends most it time on the road and only once a month at the track id go the s-drives for sure + some good brakes pads .

its no different then going for a midnight run through the hills, unless your weekend warrior also doubles as track car in a proper race or sprint series then it would be different story .

go for it :)

Thanks for the tip.

The car does about 100km on the track each visit.

At least they make the right fitment in an S-Drive! ;)

I have S.Drives on my car and I love them! I highly recommend them. I don't track my car but in dry/wet conditions they perform pretty well.

I have s drives fitted to my bbs. great tyre, nice to drive on in all conditions. my only negative was i found them very loud. always found them to have a almost drone at 100km/h.

Really didn't rate well when they did the EVO tyre test.

Came last or second last from memory. Not amazing wet or dry handling or stopping distance.

I rate them highly as well. Better than the pirelli p zero's I had. And in contradiction not loud at all. I can't make them squeal.
