Haha awesome. How's the back? The soreness is defnitely worth it. Black is such a great colour to see the depth of wax and makes it easier to apply. Great job =)

Great work John!!

Wish you could get white that shiny haha!

Yeah most of your efforts are wasted with white as there is no shine/depth/sparkle!

Nah I don't think we've met but Hobson and I are mates from way back. Another mate of mine lives with Paul and I catch up with Marty pretty often. I thought I spotted you driving out of there the other week!

I'm too embarrassed to say. I ran out of my Swissvax Onyx a while ago which was nice, without being too pricey. Shamefully I just used Meguiars' yellow wax.

How did you find the difference in the application between the Swissvax and the Meguiar's Yellow Wax? Having used NXT2.0 I found that to be sooo much quicker to apply and buff off than the Swissvax. A mini detail turns into a full days work.

Not sure if for Onyx you can hand apply. What I've found with mine is to get a small bit of wax from the jar, say 5 cent piece. Warm it up between your palms. Then rub onto the paintwork. You will be trying to apply as thin a coat as possible. The trick that I have learnt is that if you think you have enough wax on an area, try to get the last stroke on the paintwork in a perpendicular direction to that with respect to the direction you will be buffing it off. (i..e for my bonnet facing the car, I coat the wax left to right, then when I buff I move the cloth top to bottom) If you have not applied too much this should make buffing the product off much easier.

Also, as Dave mentioned, there is only so much of the product that adheres to the paintwork and the rest is then lost by being sucked up into your MF towel. You will also find that the wax looks a lot deeper if you let it bake in the sun for a bit after you have buffed off the wax. Make sure the car has not collected any dust etc whilst baking then buff up the paint again after it's had some time in the sun.

Repeating the application of wax layers should be a lot better than trying to put a massive coat on. It's tough work, dunno if you can get any shinier on your car mate, but it definitely pays off in the long run when you want just a quick rinse off. The dirt just falls away. I put 2 coats of wax last year when I first detailed. Now having done a recent new coat I have also put on the new Nano Express QD on top of the wax for a synthetic layer on top. Hope this helps.

I think you've kept your car in immaculate condition, going by the photos. There's really no benefit taking it to the extremes, we aren't driving a lambo and even then....

As long as you are happy with the condition of the car and the wax provides enough beading and protection for ease of cleaning that should be enough.

Once again, great work!

BMP FTW!

On a serious note are people keen to learn how to detail?

My detailer taught me when he cut n polished my car and it's was the best bit of knowledge about car washing I have been given.

A while back we tried to organise a detailing session but it fell through. People on this forum seem to be keener on car preservation than MOAR POWAH.

Would anyone be keen on a few hours group session with my guy? Some of you may have heard of him. He is Mark or Dr. Detail

In Melbourne, yes I am in. Otherwise I will learn from this forum. Might also want to take this discussion to detailing tips and tricks.

Looks neat Will. Nicely detailed. I swear UG looks almost, almost, as good as black when detailed right. At least ours stays looking cleaner longer.

BTW hate you and Illektronic for actually being able to use your cameras properly. I've got a nice one and I'm sure it's me not the camera that's stuffing the picture up.

ARRRRGGGG...just saw the CF on your front. Looks awesome.

No problem. Photos fine with me, just don't ask me to do editing though. Haha. Most of my stuff never edited except for the occasional colour correction. I'm old skool. I still have my manual winding film camera too. Haha.
Byza and illektronik would be a better mentor though.
