Hey guys,

Just one shot for now, there will be an update tomorrow as i'm going to get a few more shots then! It's #18/200 and has just had it's 146'000km service!! It's doing good for an old timer.

http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5266/5597800254_49dc3e0512_b.jpg

With the following mods:
Milltek Non-res catback.
KW V1 coils
Gruvenparts adjustable control arms
Thule roof rack setup (I carry my bikes around, not just on there to be fullsik.)
UNIbrace.
ECS Poly bushes
H&R 21mm adjustable rear swaybar.
H&R wheel spacers-10mm front, 20mm rear.

Got some plans for it in the near future, though unfortunately the mods are beginning to slow down with a mortgage to pay..*sigh*, i guess i got a view in there while i could! But it's going to be starting with a lot of maintenance including:

*TINT!!!!
*Front bar respray and shave.
*Headlining re-done as it's becoming ****ty.
*Full LED bulb interior overhaul
*New right hand headlight housing
*Possibly LED tails
*Dent fixed in my roof that got put there due to me forgetting my bike was on the roof the first day i had them on and reversing into my carport.:<

Then it's onto wheels and a couple other bits! It's not the quickest car out there, but it sure as hell still puts a smile on my face when I hear that noise pouring out of the Milltek. :icon_mrgreen::lol:

Mate, teamed up with the Thule Pro-ride racks, it's engineering brilliancy for the cycling world! So secure and stable and so efficient to load and unload. Amazing product. As well as aesthetically pleasing. =]

Really hard to do the wheel colour any favors in the pictures...i think the pic in the first post is the best indication.

It was supposed to be a really dark matte bronze/copper. But being powdercoat it turned out a lot different, It like a khaki/gold wierd colour...

I'm going to order some bronze wheels myself too. Proper bronze ahah.

This is my 97cm Thule fairing. Certainly cuts the whistle, however having some trouble where the centre of the fairing is tapping/scratching the roof. Though my fairing does look shorter than Drew's.

Not sure on model #, it's a 44" fairing though as recommended by just about every dub forum i searched on!

Did Thule not provide rubber pads and like a 3m protective film with yours?? That's what i got with mine to stop scratching...

The rubber pads fit underneath the clamp/footings that hold the shield. There were only four matching protective film pieces for the roof, however due to a curve that has formed in the centre of the shield, the shield is actually hitting the roof. Kicking myself I didn't request the longer version.

Oh really? I found all of people using the 38" mk4s...
I think 44" is the one though.
Whats next?

Really like the way your wheels have turned out too, most impressive.

Is the curve on the mk5 making it more susceptible to hitting the roof?

When i am back after my Euro holiday in July i am going to start riding and will probably get a roof setup like this going.

Oh true!!! I reckon if you where to get a bigger one your problem may be sorted!

The 44" is perfect!

What's next? Hard to say at this point, was this close to getting the superchips tune done today, but that will be happening in a couple weeks. Then wheels, probably some Advan Racing RS-Bs or something!

Thanks. To be honest i was quite dissapointed with the colour, but i've got a bit of positive feedback from them now so perhaps they're not that bad...

Quite possibly - it just doesn't look to be sitting as flush as Drew's, or in a convex manor. Thule parts can be temperamental (but all things plastic can be), otherwise highly recommended, I'm constantly putting both bikes and racks on and off and it's incredible how quickly these racks work.

Thanks Jig! Tt's about 130'000kms over your little gem, Jig. But i love her. She's not perfect, but its the imperfections that builds the character. I've tried coming to terms with selling her off and moving onto a lower KM's MK4, but i just can't. No car i'd rather be in right now!

If you look after the engine, there is no reason why it cant drive for another 130K kms... I am sure you baby her to bits... We should have an MK4 photo shoot one day. Dainese, Schoona,TomTom, SirCamel, JT and anyone else who has an MKIV.

Going to be awful hard with you blokes being down in Sydney...where's a halfway point :S?

just a small update; I have an issue of my drivers side seat getting scuffed up in my R, mainly because i'm ~6ft 4" and have no option but to pretty much drop into the car, which has been doing it no favors. So it's started to develop some tearing and whatnot, i was faced with a problem as i didn't want the tearing to continue. Then i found this cool little product.

http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5151/5882602465_f6b9b0f4f0_b.jpg

It's a product from the UK, cost me about $15 to my door, and is basically just some imitation leather with a sticky back, designed to be applied to leather products. This appealed to m as they have cool little designs to go with it, i chose a band-aid, how novel.

This is what the seat was looking like prior:

and this after my little patch was applied.

Quite a fun way to temporarily fix a problem. :-P

Its going to happen sooner or later for all bucket seat types. I like your band aid solution though Drew. There is a trick to this I learned. Try pushing the seat all the way back before you get out. When you get in, get into the car like most women do. Buttocks first in without touching the side bolster, then swing both your legs in. Works a treat.
