Hi guys,
Thought Id start my own thread to track progress ... Ill upload more pics when I get time as I go as Ive only just got around to find some hosting.
Picked up my car new in January - I didnt want to wait 6 months so I picked one of the few that were already on the way over:

Specs are as follows:
MY11 5 door GTI
Candy White
DSG
Leather
18" Detroits
MDI
First week I took it over to Dave @ Reflect Effect to get some tints. I got the 30% metallic tint that he offers. Dave is seriously the man - very good quality and the tints look perfect - highly recommended!

I also slapped on a VWGolf.net.au sticker =)

Next, I couldnt stand my halogen lights (wish I had the Bi-Xenons but didnt want to wait) so I replaced my main bulbs with Osram Nightbreaker plus and my parkers with PIAA Extreme Whites. Im not liking the PIAA's so I am trying to source some LED error-free wedge replacements.

At around 1,200kms I bought an APR Carbonio Stage 1 CAI off Chris (Mk6tsi). With the stock tune, there was a slight increase in induction/spool noise. But generally pretty quiet.

At 3,000kms I drove down to Derek @ European Autotech for an APR Stage 1 ECU tune. However, when I went, he was parting out his own car so I picked up his downpipe and went straight to the Stage 2 tune. Smiles all around:)
Its true what they say, driveability in "D" is very OEM. Response down low is much improved and the amount of torque in the top end is amazing. The DSG "burps" sound similar but louder at 3-4krpm, but this sound changes at higher RPM to something like a gunshot or whip crack .... brought a smile to my face when I first heard it. The intake noise is also heaps louder now and there is a "psssht" noise when I come off the gas from the DV.
Im still undecided if I like the sound of the downpipe going into the OEM catback. Inside the car its still very quiet and no noticeable difference (which I wanted). Im told outside the car you can really hear the difference. While I wanted the car to sound pretty quiet, if the car is making more noise anyway then I want the noise to sound good:)
Im going to try take some videos to share.
Next up I will be looking at some suspension and braking mods.
My preliminary thoughts are as follows. Welcome any input you guys have.
* A set of coilovers that will let me have a minimal drop from stock (driveway issues at home), with easy adjustment if I track it and some daily comfort. Is this asking too much?=) Someone suggested HPA SHS.
* Upgrade my brake pads and get some Motul fluid
* BSH torque arm insert (heard this one has the least NVH increase)
* Whiteline ALK (anyone have this in a mk6?)
