New on here, Currently am driving a BA Falcon SR as a daily (One of the best cars I have driven) though I also have a Mk4 R32 No 79 second owner. I also have ordered a Golf R.

So can't wait! My first new car ever!

Yeah sorry to say but the 4 month quote is a crock. It'll be at least 6 months.

They'll BS you along with things like '4 week quarantine' 'shipping delay', etc.

BUT, I think I know a dealer with that exact car arriving in a week. What state are you in??

I might be able to get you the details to take to your dealer and get the car within a few weeks.

Oh ok. Well I expect to there to be delays that is no problem for me as I already have a daily. Im in NSW. Though I might call Inchcape and see what the story is. Also for anyone who knows are these R's built in Germany?

Yeah, they're built in Germany.

Let me know if you do want the R earlier though, cause I know a dealer who has (to my knowledge) that exact one arriving next week. I'll double confirm if your interested, but otherwise, just wait for yours =]

congrats on purchase! mine is a couple of weeks away from arriving. the first few months were bearable as i managed to forget about it but now the wait is bloody killing me.

try and squeeze a VIN number from you dealer then you can track your car on its epic voyage. my R is currently half way between Reunion Island and Fremantle, smack bang in the middle of the indian ocean

4 Months wait WTF! LOL I ordered mine in Feb and was told it wouldnt arrive till September at the earliest! :| this has been updated to late July/early August though.

nice specs as well, apart from the 5 door. ;) lol

Welcome mate, I was one of the lucky ones, walked into the dealer and bought the car in stock, drove it weekend before last and picked it up yesterday. Think i got all the stuff you want too. Your gunna love it :)

I got mine there..
I been asking Anthony ( VW sales dude) for a vin for the pass 2 months and he keeps telling me that my car has not enter production yet so no VIN. He told to me to call back late Aug ish sept to get the VIN.

I think i test droved your car like 3 months ago... i was actually going to buy it but then when i rang in a few days later it was already sold...:( ... I love your racing sits...I loved it so much i optioned it on mine as well...lol

The sales told me about the 2 R that they have in stock but they are pretty much unoption other than sunroof. So i passed the offer..

I ordered mine on the 8th December 2010 and took delivery on the 7th April 2011. Its was pretty much exactly 4 months lead time to the day. And yes the car was a custom order with my specs.

A friend picked his R up from the same dealership on the same day as me, and he had ordered his way back in June 2010!! Seems the lead times are all over the shop.
