I have recently purchased and replaced the OEM spark plugs with Champion Platinum Plugs on my VR6.
Does anybody know if these are as good/better than that of the standard plugs (in terms of performance, economy, burn-out rate, etc.)??

Also, does anybody know an approximate cost of the service of a timing chain service (needs to be done every 160000kms apparently- mine has clocked up 164XXX).

The throttle problem I was talking about in previous posts i believe is the throttle body; the car does not like to rev fully (very asthmatic- revs to approx 3500-4000rpm) and isnt responsive.

Hey mate, I went with the NGK platinums, no experience with those plugs. Guess you'll just have to wait and see.

As for the chains, it doens't seem to be a regular thing. Ie good maintenance has prolonged it and poor maintenance shortened the life span. Basically listen for the deahtly rattle of them and then stop driving. You'll bend valves.

I haven't read much into TB issues, search for "sortofbigbj" on VWW, pretty sure he bored out a 2.9 Corrado TB (or another standard one) and it made a difference :)
