Anybody had any experience with adhesive removers on paint?

I've had some stickers plastered all over my car - and have removed the decals themselves.

But, I've got the residual adhesive left on the paintwork.

Anybody any ideas on what will effectively get that off?

WD40 and a quality soft cloth usually does the trick for me. If it's a really old sticker I heat the residue/paint up a little with a hairdryer (carefully) and apply more WD40. If that doesn't work I use a little bit of Meguiars Scratch X.

I normally use just a plain old polish. Kitten or something like that normally works a charm.

Its nice to the paint, polishes as you go, so you dont have to do it again after using something not really designed for paint, and gets the job done :D

Shellite is also a good product, won't effect your paint but is not oil based so it leave smudges behind. I used to own a graphics business and this is what we used to prep a surface before applying stickers and also to clean off old ones like your doing.

Worth getting in any case cause its a good all round cleaner, great for getting off tar too :D
