Does Anyone Know if Audi Australia will change their mind and fiqure out a way of bringing this ultimate machine to Australia. I know that member robbie_jai put an order in late last year if i remember and they rang him up and cancelled his order immediately as it wasn't going to come to Australia full stop.I would Love my dad to buy one but his heart at the moment is leaning towards the BMW 1M Coupe. I haven't told him Audi has released this beauty overseas and not here yet. Apparently it didn't meet ADR standards.

I know the manager of a couple Audi centers in Melb and he is cracking it that the car didn't meet the ADR standards, he said almost exactly this:

"To give you an idea how ridiculous the ADR is, the car failed by less than .5% in its marks, it is literally the most tiny of differences and it's been knocked back".

I don't exactly know what the deal breaker was, but by the sounds of it, it was something pretty negligible.

I will buy one the second its released.

Was reading the July issue of UK Topgear . They had a comparison between the RS3 and the 1M Coupe.
The RS3 nailed 0-60 mph in 3-8 seconds !!! That's ballistic for a hatchback.

Audi didnt even BOTHER to try to ADR It... to say it failed by 0.5% in marks or what is made up bullshit and your mate is lying through his teeth telling you that shit

Audi's argument is that it was too expensive to try and ADR the car for low volume sales in australia.. hence Audi didnt bother to try and ADR it.

The RS3 got pinged on its CFRP front bumpers. for that very reason Audi OZ would have had to provide at least two cars for frontal impact testing to ensure it is ADR compliant.

I should know so ;-) i dropped a very large deposit for a RS3 when it was announced world wide. Audi happily took my deposit at the time... and indications were it was going to come to OZ.... then this ADR crap came up.

Let's just say... as a very loyal audi customer with quite a few Audi past and present...... i had a very long discussion with Audi OZ Corporate and questioning why the car wasnt coming and me challenging Audi why I should continue to buy their products.

i can assure you it didnt fail ADR cos it was never done. To hear crap like that annoys the living crap out of me. It just garbage and complete misinformation

OZ and JP are the only two countries in the world where the RS3 is not going to existing S3 markets.

I should add.... are you SURE the Manager at your Audi Dealer in melb told you that ?? Im very surprised if he did because most dealers knew the car wasnt going to be ADR'ed once Audi had made the decision and announced it.
