Easiest way to lose weight is to go to BAttery World and buy a DEKA battery. Starts like a champ, only 8.2kg versus about 19.5kg for the factory.

Plus you can take it with you to your next car and the one after that. Can also be installed in any position even upside down, under your seat etc. Dry cell battery, no danger in a crash!

You can also shave 6kg permanently by removing the rear bumper bar from underneath rear bumper. It bolts out with 3 bolts.

So for $200 you have shaved about 17kg off your car permanently. If you add in the battery tray and various attachments there you will save 20kg.

Thats a weight plates worth!

Another alternative is to get lightweight wheels and save 4x the reduced weight.

thanks for the welcome everyone, nice to see familiar people here also.

Wheels are definitely the BEST weight loss area. Unsprung weight makes biggest difference. For those interested you can get Enkei RPF1's from tirerack.com for about $250 each last time I checked. Between 6-8kg depending on width of the 17.

If someone made some good 2 piece rotors that could also save about 3kg a corner for a substantial help in getting the ball rolling.
