Will GT5 EVER be released?!?

Gran Turismo's OFFICIAL release of March 2010 deadline has ended. Were we really ever surprised?

After the release of Playstation 3, Gran Turismo "HD" was released to whet our appetites. 1080p smooth-as-silk GFX. That was back in December 2006.

A whole year later and some more promises and later delays, they released GT5 Prologue.

These were followed by spec II and now spec III - released in October 2008.

A year and a half later, here we are... delayed again.

If indeed GT5 does get released in 2010, it will be 4 years since GT HD.

I'm starting to think GT5 will end up being released for PS4 or something... Oh wait. Maybe then they'll head back to the drawing boards and redo it for the new machine?

Seriously... what is wrong with Polyphony/Sony?

Yeah, when the PS4 gets released. Then they will want to re-render each model to make use of the additional computing power of the new unit which should see release sometime in 2015.

Same here. On my PS2 75% of my games were racing games. I've got one (and a half if you count prologue) on PS3. Still waiting for GT5.

If the PS3 wasn't such a decent media player I'd be annoyed.
But yep... As others have said, anticipation of GT5 is the reason I've owned one for the past couple of years.
I'm well beyond wanting to be first in queue for this one, but I'll still be buying it.

Apparently the March/April 2010 release date was for Japan market only but they have pushed that back to end of this year for a world wide release.

Well thats one of the rumours flying around. Either way ive done the opposite and have held out on buying a PS3 until GT5 is released.

So in the mean time its slim PS2 + GT4 + G25 FTW :)

The reason it's been delayed is because the same company that makes GT5 (polyphony) have made a new game and is being released soon. They stopped GT5 development. Now they are starting GT5 again they are trying to make it for 3D TVs, rumours have it the Blu-ray Avatar movie is a 3D movie that works on 3D panels when they come out.

It's all bullshit if you ask me. I'm sick of the PS3, i bought probably the last 60Gb unit, bought a few games got bored of it. Bought a Wii... still fun actually with the girlfriend and now playing xbox Forza 3. PS3 is gathering dust and only is used to watch Blu-rays and youjizz.

When the ps3 came out... i had a xbox360... so i thought i would wait until a decent game come out like gran turismo to be worth it... and 4 years on, i still dont have a ps3. I seriously wonder what they do with their time designing this game!

I've got GT5 Prologue and I've maybe played it 5 times.
Had the ps3 (and bought it when I got the ps3) a year or so back. Its only used for blurays

Had my 360 for about 3 weeks now and already played Forza 3 like 40 times lol. Its so much fun. Really loving Forza.
I've got 2 MKV GTI's. One with a tuned and done up 2.0TFSI engine, the other with TT R36 engine haha both running AWD. I love it

Well it's just been officially announced, that it will be released on 2nd November, this year.

It was announced at Sony's E3 press conference, and yes, it will support 3D which I couldn't really care less about since I don't even have a 3D tv.

It'll be interesting to see whether they can rival Forza 3, which was brilliant.

You'd honestly think they'd just ship it and make the additions later as downloadable packs. The tech is there, they should be milking it for all it's worth. Sure some people will run the standard game and never open their wallet for extras, but I'm sure there's another group if die-hards that would gladly fork out a lots of bucks for extra cars, tracks etc.

Yet another example of an Old-New-Media company not rolling with the times and generally losing the plot.

they really are going to set themselves up for failure... the expectation of this game is just going to be huge and no doubt will let many people done no matter how good it is...

new F1 game is awesome!!! doesnt have safety cars or mech failures etc, but its still a lot of fun!! Fuel simulation actually hinders your car unless you play 100% race length as the fuel weights is not done correctly for shorter race periods and you're car is much much slower than the AI (but this can be turned off).

i just signed a contract with Red Bull as No.2 driver for the new season! gonna stick it to Vettel HAHAHAHA.
