-Stage 1 DNA tune
-Carbonio Stage 1 carbon fibre intake with dry panel filter (replaces previous upgrade to a BMC panel air filter)
-RS seat handle badges
-Matt stainless steel RS4 style exterior mirror covers
-Rear door sill covers
-RS design replacement matt silver shift knob plate
-RS badges on front passenger doors

-updated RS front grill badge (for the new replacement grill).

Things yet to arrive and to be installed:
-Eibach 20mm F+R lowering springs
-Skoda wheel centre caps

Things yet to figure out how to install:
-Sharan stubby antenna (because the damn factory one won't simply unscrew off completely???)
-Magnetic oil drain plug (well I already know but just waiting til next service to install)

Things yet to do:
-Carbon di-noc the roof
-New headunit??? (Bloody exxy!!!)
-Turbo back exhaust system
-Whiteline bushes and rear sway bar?
-Audi R8 oil and coolant cover caps
-Cover the door frame section b/w front and rear door windows with dinoc matt black vinyl
-Stage 2 DNA tune
-Slotted F+R rotors and pad upgrade with braided brake lines
-Forge TWINtercooler
-KO4 upgrade

Things I'm pondering about whether to do or not:
-Fog light assembly swap with a projector beam version (not sure if its interchangeable with the FL one?)
-Strut braces (can't seem to find any at the moment)
-LSD - will be the last upgrade if I ever get around to it and if needed after some future track days due to the bloody high costs.

Here you go guys. Enjoy and let me know what you think:

Hi fuzion, yeah I saw your post on behalf of your mate Vince a little while ago on vwwatercooled which gave me the determination to create another yellow beast. The last dyno run mine did put out a very smooth and linear 150.2kw atw. Definately getting used to the power now and want more. Your own s3 is bloody awesome too along with your partners polo gti. Very nice indeed.

Another yellow beast? You've been mellow yellow previously?!

Think we may be down for DOVW. Should do a photo shoot between the two haha.

Yup the roof will be blacked out with carbon di-noc ASAP. That's still on the 'to do list'. Nah mate never had a yellow one in the past. Only a silver polo gti. I was actually referring to the Vinces car. I'm definately up for DOVW this year and seriously thinking about entering it this year. A photo shoot sounds nice so I take it you'll be down here for the Vic one then? If so, then it'll be nice to finally meet ya.

gtidave, should be! not to sure as shootin off in october for 4 weeks to europe so funds may be sort of lacking, well not sort of. definitely! but am definitely keen for it again!

the rear diffuser looks the same as the s3, rs3! bloody vw interchanging parts haha! looks nice, assuming it glues on as i think Vince was looking at this as well sometime ago..

superskoda website is just evil, its amazing HOW much you can actually get for the Skoda's vs a VW almost!

Yep and its even more evil when you finally click onto 'checkout' and realise how much shipping is plus the costs of payment options.

Yay the Eibach lowering springs have arrived!!! Getting them installed this saturday along with the Whiteline anti-lift/caster kit and Control arm inner front bushes. The Rear sway bar will go on once stock is available again (apparently whiteline is currently committing 100% of its stock reserves to overseas dealers and not here...Darn!!!). That should tighten up the stock drifty-ness and reduce wheel-spin off the line with improved lowered looks. Oh and the Skoda wheel centre caps have arrived too.

Got the eibach springs, whiteline anti-lift kit and Whiteline control arm inner front bushes installed today. Just waiting on the rear adjustable sway bar to arrive. So far so good. No wheelspin so far even in the wet but then again I didnt push it too hard. Will take photos of the lower stance in a few days after the springs settle. The skoda centre caps i ordered were the correct diameter but were too short to clip in so will have to somehow modify the audi ones that came with the wheels and probably get a skoda centre badge of some sort to cover it up.

Its not lowered much from stock. Only 20mm all round. Looks like it came like that from the factory so shouldn't attract much of the wrong attention (although the diverter valve would well before any else IMHO). LOL.

Have you considered coilovers or lowered springs :).

Hi Rob, yes I have and have just got the Eibach springs installed today. Only 20mm drop so will still give me plenty of leeway in terms of legality even when loaded. If I had gone for the H&R 35mm lowering springs, then that would put me right on the limit (and that's unloaded) so a little nervous. Plus I'm sick of scraping the front end (like I did with the polo gti).

whats you wheel offset? you will find the rear will scrub a bit and might need some dremelling like we had to do on Vinces (about 5 times lol)

whats you wheel offset? you will find the rear will scrub a bit and might need some dremelling like we had to do on Vinces (about 5 times lol)

Wheel offset is 45 but width is 8 not 8.5 like Vince's. I was concerned about scrubbing and wheels poking outside of the guards hence went with the RS4 replicas instead of vmr's to avoid scrubbing as much as possible. 8.5 width WILL definately scrub as you and Vince have experienced. However if I do go any lower...say 35mm or more then I'll definately be at risk of scrubbing not to mention sitting at or beyond legal height. Had a long hard look into the offset and wheel width before I went ahead and used a wheel offset and width calculator and the current wheel spec meant that the distance between strut and wheel is unchanged and poke towards arches will only be 12mm compared to 19-20mm had I gone for the vmr's 8.5 inch width. So hopefully the car won't scrub at it current ride height and wheel size combination.

Nice! Well get some pictures happening buddy! lol.

The S3 scrubbed a bit on the BBS's as well only on the rear though. The front if i push hard enough but i needed 4mm spacers to clear the 996TT brakes! boo!

Nice progress dude!

My sprint booster novelty came in the mail today and got it installed in less than 15mins. Quite easy. Only thing was the factory lead/plug was bloody short. If it were another 1-2mm shorter, then I wouldn't have been abel to install the damn thing. Otherwise, its a fun addition. Certainly makes things feel more exciting and more punchy with less effort on the get go >D

Yeah after the damn thing kept going off especially down the twisties yesterday, it was getting annoying so will be coming off when I get a chance. So I guess its time to get a decent exhaust system to put out some decent tunes with a little extra oomph!!! LOL.

So time for an update, recently replaced the old MFD2 sat nav unit with a chinese rns510 lookalike and works a charm so far. Can finally watch dvd's, listen to other things other than just CD's. YAY. Been advised my whiteline rear sway bar has finally arrived so will be getting that installed tomorrow. Ordered the honeycomb bonnet grill insert and second shopping hanger for the boot. Next mods will be the downpipe and intercooler and then a stage 2 retune (might not happen for a while since tight on cash). Oh and the matt silver mirror covers have come off.

Gti Dave
05-09-2011, 12:05 AM
Honeycomb grill insert should be arriving this week. Can't wait. I'll carbon di-noc the grill surround and install the new grill insert this week. Trying to find a Melbourne based company that does carbon dinoc car wrapping so they can do the roof for me. Funny how they don't answer to enquiry emails??? Gotta find out how to remove the side mirror covers so I can di-noc them myself to complete the black and yellow look. Then it's off to Tim's at dubaddiction for the eurojet downpipe and maybe eurojet intercooler? If all goes well and acccording to plan, my bumblebee should be ready for the DNA Tuning stage 2 ecu remap!!!

Apologies if i didn't take the initiative to say hi on Friday as I wasn't completely sure who was who but thanks for coming up to say hi and introduce your mate (I assume that was yourself). I'm sure i'll know your nicknames, real names and faces after a few meets and after a good chat (I'm horrible when it comes to names so please don't take offence if i seem standoffish).

Hoy hoy...spent the whole day at Tim's and got the Eurojet downpipe, intercooler and BSh tru seal intake kit with BSH heat shield installed in one fell swoop. Now for Stage 2+ remap with DNA!!!
BSH truseal intake kit is impressively loud even in cabin and glad I took off the Forge diverter spacer otherwise too much induction and BOV noise. Overall really happy with everything. Downpipe isnt loud and only just changes the outside tone with the added burble. Nice.
Big thanks to both Tim Josh for the help with install and Josh for install and modding the downpipe. Intercooler is definately a 2 man job at the minimum.

P.S> Tim's got some pics of the front intercooler installed and the front end half off on Dubaddiction's Facebook page.

My RS is finally complete (for now anyways). Bought the Autotech HPFP assembly from Tim at Dubaddiction on Friday night and installed today with special thanks to Lucas from Eurospeed for the delicate and smooth install. DNA stage 2+ remap now loaded and pulls without the hesitation between 3500-5000rpm. Sprintbooster no longer needed but does make it even more insane though.

Will get pics up ASAP.

Gti Dave
27-09-2011, 12:52 AM
Hey Dave, did you find the car pulled a lot harder after going to stage 2+?

Yeah it does pull a bit harder especially now with the hpfp and tune to match, it now keeps pulling above 3500rpm whereas prior to the upgrades, the car would just rev and make a lot of noise but no more pulling. Overall much smoother and more drivability. Very happy with the result. It's not until you're the passenger that you feel that the skin from your face is literally being pulled back when giving it some.

Gti Dave

Thanks mate. Glad you like it. Already got the eurojet downpipe installed. Definately the nicest downpipes out there. Not sure when I'll be getting the catback done as I'm fussy on the sound various systems produce. I'm hoping that the next mod will be an underbody unibrace so hope the mkV golf's one will fit directly. I've got on order Bilstein B8's to complete the chassis and handling side of things. I'll take a few more pics shortly. Its raining outside at the moment.

Been a bit quiet and neglected the RS for a while in terms of mods so after much deliberation, got the KW v1's on order (decided to not go with the B8's as i would like height adjustment this time around). Also placed another order with superskoda for some other little touches. After that, who knows, might get itchy for more.

Hey guys, just throwing it out there but was wondering if I do decide to buy the RS another set of wheels (this time in 18" rather than another set of 19's), should I go anthracite, black or silver this time round? Taking into account the current blk and yellow theme.

Thinking of these wheels:

Wouldn't need to buy new tyres if I go 18's since I can take them off the factory wheels.

Basically trying to think of ways to mod the car further without compromise ride comfort so wifey doesn't complain (since coilovers are coming) yet having the various tuning options for looking good vs practicality.

I think the black looks stunning against your yellow Dave. Normally im a bright silver fan but you got a theme happening

I'll have to do some photochopping but I'm leaning towards hyper silver with the yellow.

Yeah I guess Tim's right about the theme but at the same time I'm torn with the reflex silver wheels or anthracite cause 18's in blak on a bright coloured car will look small whereas maybe the silver ones even in 18's may still look fine but may not match th colour scheme. So hard. I guess I'll have to request for more photoshopping from you Todd? I still owe you dinner from the last session. I guess I'll have to owe you lunch and dinner now >D

This car will look even better when lowered. I think with this yellow, the silver or gun metal will look better than all black. But that is just me... If I had to go black wheels, I would go satin matt black not gloss black so that you have 2 different finishes between the body and the wheels. Cant wait to see the transformation.

this is one of my favourite pre-facelift octys:

.. but I'm guessing the BBS's could be a few $$$$

and here's an initial photochop attempt at the GT-CX hyper silver's:

and then, here's a slight fiddle to get a bit of a black machined look:

Hey Todd, any chance you could grab the latest pics from post #46 on page 5 of this thread side profile so I can see how it looks with the yellow and black rather than a complete yellow one?

Thanks

ok here goes, it's hard to make night shots look realistic .. this is about the limit of my wheelwhorechopping expertise ;)

silver -

http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/8bpj4.jpg

matt black -

http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/4gban.jpg

anthracite -

http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/ugtje.jpg

.. and their size seems to have turned out to be closer to 20 than 18, but it's mostly about getting an idea of style and colour anyway

ps. the night shots make the car look a little more yellow than I think it actually is, if you can get me some good daytime shots I'll give it another whirl ... I vote for the matt anthracite btw :)

You must be just around the corner from me. I run past Mentone Skoda (which is now up for sale) at least twice a week.

Hmm...Right now it down to matt anthracite or matt black. Thing is, matt anthracite can look darker depending on lighting but at the same time, its slightly lighter tone can also play tricks on our eyes and be perceived as slightly igger than 18'. Hmm but just as an immediate quick look see, my eyes and heart is telling me go matt black even though the photoshopping of those wheels look more like 20's.

I'm in Springy. Whereabouts are you located?

Mentone Skoda is (now was) where I take mine in for service. So if they're closing, then does that mean I lose the extra dealer warranty once my factory warranty expires? If that's the case then I'm just gonna take my RS to service at an independent workshop. Will save me $$$.

P.S. those mentone motor group kents!!!!! I didn't even get any letter or any info regarding their closure or sale. Just looked at the mentone motor group site and they don't even list Skoda there anymore.

All of the goodies I recently ordered arrived and plan was to install everything except for the kw v1's today but got distracted and didn't end up having time to install everything so just decided to change over the my current prefacelift tail lights to the new facelifted ones. Now from behind, you can't tell if mine is the pre-facelifted one.

http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae260/Gti_Dave/IMAG0534.jpg

Also put on the eyebrows to see how they would look. Just not sure if I should leave them black as is without painting or cover them up with carbon dinoc? I rekon they look fine as is IMO. BTH, front end doesn't look so dopey anymore. LOL.

I also managed to temporarily screw on the VRS grill badge but looks kinda misaligned at the moment. Will straighten it out when I finish the install of all other parts.

Apologies about the dirty car, the drive to and from Bendigo with road works means the car's dusty, filthy and has tar stuck on the paint.

Will try and install the rest of the goodies on Friday or Saturday. Hopefully Pedders sth Melb can install the coilovers on sat.

Ordered those GT-CX 18x8.5" matt black wheels shod in Pirelli P Zero 225/40R18's. Going to get a wheel alignment tomorrow morning since the coilovers has had a little bit of time to settle.

Hey guys just got the roof wrapped in carbon vinyl with windscreen banner/shade. Also got the tails tinted. Was supposed to have the rear spoiler diffuser wrapped in the carbon vinyl as well but had problems wrapping to satisfaction so ended up buying the vinyl myself so I can work on it in my own time.

BTW, I couldn't help myself last night so ordered a set of the carbon fibre mirror covers.

Hey guys been a while since posting up updated photos. Just recently installed the carbon fibre mirror covers and head light washer covers and carbon wrapped the diffuser fins on the rear spoiler for some added effect. Sorry about the car being a little dirty. Also took off some stickers.

There's other options like a lip spoiler but I'll probably only put that on a non RS though sedan if I had the $$$ if the wifey opted for that instead of the Holden Cruze. SHould look smooth and clean like an audi a4.
