Expressions of Interest

Looking at a potential wheel upgrade. So sussing out if there is any interest in the stock pirelli rims and how much I can get for them to fund my wheel upgrade.

4 x 18x7.5 Pirelli Alloy wheels
The wheels do have some gutter rash. I haven't exactly looked after them.
Most likely would come with Pirelli P-Zero tryes.
Front two tyres have done 5000KM
Rear two have done 10000KM
Around 70-80% thread left on all four. Tyres cost me $450 each when I had to replace the front two cause of sidewall damage.

Couldn't find any details of of how much the alloy wheels cost so open to offers.

Yeah would be hard to get them (recall they were some obscene amount from the VW parts). Just something to keep in mind if you decide to get rid of the car. I think you can usually the after market ones for more (which is what I did when I sold my car).

But the usually have to go towards the new ones, and is part of justifying getting them :).

Your spot on with the last comment there G-Rig... can't justfiy get a new set if I'm not selling these. (Missus would kill me)

Hence this is just an EOI too see if I can actually get a decent amount for these....

PM if you wish mate, happy for you to take a look. Need to hold on to these for a few weeks still hence this is still an EOI. I also have no idea what the rims are worth couldn't find any info on them. I was hoping to get above $1K for them at least but judging from the thread that's not going to happen.

I figured just 4 x P-zero tryres alone are worth around $1800 when new....

I'm guess I'm always overly optimistic about these sorts of things.

AP is probaly right there too... they aren't the lightest and best looking wheels around.

Helps to give a price, some forums require it but hard to guage what things are worth sometimes.

Ps you could wait for some detroits silver, but don't know anyone would be selling those for ages.

Factory cost is about $800AUD from memory. Though people would probably not spend that for OEM rims and may rather get lighter forged wheels or others with a better cosmetic look. Having pictures of each wheel will also provide potential buyers with a better feel for how much they are willing to offer. Would it be better to save up a bit longer so you can keep em whilst still upgrading.

On further inspection (after washing the car) only the front left rim has some damage. Posting photos later this arvo.

Best thing is to throw them on Ebay. They will go for over a grand. I've sold semi slick tyres (R888 205/50/15) 2 times with like 10% tread for $380 on Ebay.
