Hey guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Neal, 26 years old from Sydney. I purchased a new 2010 Golf GTI in January and am waiting for it to come across from Germany. It's currently built and on the ship from Germany so I'm getting more excited by the day.

I've kept it fairly simple so I can use some $$$ for mods down the track. ;) It's candy white, 5 door, DSG, 18 inch detroits and MDI.

I've wanted a Golf GTI for a long time, I was very close to buying a MK5 but decided to hold out as the new MKVI was only 6 months off when I was looking.

I've had a few interesting cars over the years, S15 200sx, Pug GTi 180 & Mazda 3 MPS. Can't wait to get into the Golf GTI as I've been driving my wife's Yaris for the last 18 months while we bought a house.

Anyway, looking forward to coming along to a few cruises with you guys!

Wow thanks for the nice replies guys. I only came across this forum the other day after hanging out on another VW forum that shall remain nameless. This one seems like a bit more laid back without the bitchiness.

The car is quoted on the invoice as being here by 16th June 2010. But I've been tracking it with the VIN number and it looks like the ship is due to arrive at Port Kembla on the 9th May. So all going well I might get it a couple of weeks early! The wait is killing me but I'm sure it will be worth it.

In the mean time I'll continue to admire your cars on here and plan my wishlist of mods! ;)

CW with tints is the bear minimum, I've seen CW without tints and looks iffy, but love CW.

I know teh feeling of waiting anxiously for your car to arrive! Dad's ordering something from the BMW stable (couldn't convince him to look into an R32/R36, sorry :( ) and he's telling me every chance he gets how many days he's got left :lol:

CW is definitely a ridiculously popular colour, I'm really amazed at the number of them! Can't wait to see her in person at a meet, the one in your avatar looks awesome too!

Thanks guys, definately counting down the days. I'm on the shipping site daily hoping the ship hurries up!

I'm definately going to tint it, just can't decide whether to go for the regular 35% or go for something a bit darker. Any thoughts on that one?

Yeah I've grown to love white cars, not the taxi Commodore variety, but the Golf and other cars like the Evo or GT3 look tough in white. I like to call them storm troopers! :D I always loved the Golf W12 concept car so when I went to order my MKVI it was my first choice.
