I ride my road bike every now and then, I run a fair bit and I hit the gym fairly reguarly but that doesnt really cut it at a sport eh?

Lol @ burgs >D

I used to, but since moving back to Sydney havent had the opportunity, not that I'm really any good, played socially so none of that handicap stuff...

Haha silly me, ive been known to hit a ball once in a blue moon. Going to Camden Vally Golf Course in May for a corporate golf day, hoping to repeat last years efforts of winning closest to the pin on a par 3 hole.

I used to play a wee bit.
Hoping to get out soon for a hack...um I mean hit.
:D

Had a membership last year and played nearly every weekend. Started to get....ok....but if I went down to the golf course now/today I'd have trouble hitting a decent one I reckon lol.

When I was 14 I used to be on a handicap 4 for the first 9 holes at Hurstville in the Juniors program and I think I was down to a handicap of 11 on the golflink system (proper handicap).
But I havnt really played for 6 years now, it wasnt for me anymore.

I used to play very often up until a couple of years ago, been meaning to get out recently but my clubs have gone walk about.

Sounds like an idea 10d as I haven't used the clubs in almost 3 years! O and I have no idea where we could play anyway :) so where's a good driving range?

Shonen
06-04-2010, 08:13 AM
Depends on which area your in.

Around Sydney, Moore Park and Homebush Olympic Centre driving range are both decent driving ranges.

I haven't played anywhere up near you guys so I don't know.
I've only played down south. Nowra, Shoalhaven Heads, Sussex, Callala, St Georges Basin etc.

I'd be up for a drive to a decent driving range. Our only driving range down where I am is basically a field. If they didn't have it fenced off the cows would be wandering around lol.

p.s A Golf meet, for a Golf practice would be so cool. I can just see it now, 10-15 Golfs all lined up and everyone walking towards the range with their clubs haha.
;)

Anywhere around sydney would suit for a driving range session, not sure when though busy the next two weekends (GTG in two weeks) but after that would be good

Yeah sounds like a fantastic idea...
btw did anyone get offered golf clubs with the purchase of their car?
Apparently i got rejected the offer because i haggled the price down to much =P
It would b pretty sweet to own a pair of vw golf clubs!

Went to the driving range the other day, was fun - me and a few mates plan to go regularly now.

The trick is to not try and hit the ball to hard, if you dont know what your doing, like me. Then your more likely to hit and have it go a decent distance

I will be up for golf. Moore park would probably be the ideal driving range cause it's in good condition and you get good balls instead of chippy and dirty balls. Plus good location in the sense where it's central for everyone I think.

For guys who is looking at getting some new clubs now is the time because of MASTER SALE!

A question for golfers who drives a GTI how do you cope with the boot unable to accommodate the golf bag? That the only down for my if I get a GTI, I need room for my golf bag :D

Yea it's a joke isn't it. Everytime i play or go to the range i have to put the backseat half down to fit the clubs in. And our cars are called GOLFS!

I'd be up for Moore Park Range meet and hit.

Moore park sounds good for a gtg and hit at the driving range.

I also suggest Homebush Olympic park driving range.

During the weekends, they have a breakfast/lunch deal where you spend $15 or more and you get a free bucket of balls.

just curious how come your not using the "driving range" at rsgc? considering you've paid for the membership, and the facilities are so much better!

BUT i guess you want to do it at night... that kinda answered my own question lol

I'd be happy for a driving range meet, havent used the clubs in a few years and wasnt that good to begin with, but Friday and Saturday nights are out for me, and will need advance notice for anything else.

Perhaps den525 could one day hook us up for a round at RSGC? I live 5 mins, but play 50 mins away at Twin Creeks...

Just joking mate. I could organise a week day round out at Twin Creeks if anyone is interested. A nice drive out along the M4 for our Golfs
