Hey Guys & Girls,
Sooooo, My Golf R has finally been delivered!! What an amazing car to drive! Looking forward to the slow and steady upgrade/modification of her.
Future/Planned Mods all to come in due course:
Engine/Exhaust:
- Sprint Booster (potentially, have read good things and will wait and see how much the DBW pedal response annoys me)
- APR or GIAC stage 1 ECU
- Intake
- Turbo back exhaust (looking at APR, or maybe Milltek)
Styling interior/exterior
- OSIS Dead Pedal
- Window Tinting
- LED Number plate lights
Custom Carbon Fibre mods for:
> Wing mirrors
> Door handle molds
> AC Vents
> Centre Console
> Rear diffuser
(The Carbon styling mods are dependent on finding someone to fabricate them for a reasonable price.)
*** Nurburgring Sticker!!! LOL (P.S. if anyone is a fan of the track, make sure you drive it at least once in your life! I did in July! Best day of my car loving life!)

Grats on the purchase. If you get sick of the recaros let me know ;D (obligatory dibs).

Yeah thanks man. My Corolla is actually my first car! Have had the little beast for 11 years, so its going to be an amazing step up! haha, yeah if I ever... even... never, sorry I mean ever get sick of the Recaro's I let you know!

However, things that I have been looking into:
engine/exhaust:
- Sprint Booster (potentially, have read good things and will wait and see how much the DBW pedal response annoys me - user comments welcome)
- APR stage 1 ECU (I like the power for price, but will take other suggestions)
- Intake (user recommendations?)
- Turbo back exhaust (looking at APR, or maybe Milltek)
Styling interior/exterior
- OSIS Dead Pedal
- Custom Carbon Fibre mods for:
> Wing mirrors
> Door handle molds
> AC Vents
> Centre Console
> Rear diffuser
(The Carbon styling mods are dependent on finding someone to fabricate them for a reasonable price.)
- LED Licence plate lights
*** Nurburgring Sticker!!! LOL :) (P.S. if anyone is a fan of the track, make sure you drive it at least once in your life! I did in July! Best day of my car loving life!)
Sprintbooster = Personally, I like it. Some hate it. Read the sprintbooster thread for feedback
Stage 1 Reflash = Be different and try REVO or HPA. Tendy has a HPA on his Scirocco R and has a very nice power delivery for daily driving. Robby_Jai had a REVO tune on his S3 and that great from what I heard.
Intake = Forge TWINtake for the Golf R should be ready anytime soon. I had one on my Jetta and I loved it. I have a Volkswagen Racing one on my R and to be honest, I only got that because I couldnt fit the TWINtake on my R since the area behind the passenger light where there is normally a lot of space is taken up by my 42DD oil catch can. EVOMS intake is also alright
Turboback Exhaust = if you want a full TBE, seems like Milltek is what most people are going for. Or you can go a TurboXS Downpipe and get a custom catback or something made. Supersprint also make TBE's for the Golf R but theyre damn $$$$.
OSIR dead pedal = Ian @ Rennenhaus can source these for you.
Wing Mirror = OSIR has one for the MK6 Golf. Theyre not cheap though. Again, Ian from Rennenhaus can get these in.
AC Vents/Centre Console/Door handle moulds = If you're going to "wrap" it in carbon, I'm against that. Wrapped interior carbon bits look tacky IMO. Like this
http://golfmk6.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=9430&d=1305789994
Rear diffuser = wooduck has done this to his white 3dr Golf R. It looks pretty good. Not sure if he went through these guys but these guys (click) (http://carbonfibrevinylwrap.net.au/) can do it for you. Very professional too.
Nurburgring sticker = I have one on my fuel filler cap >D
http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/4673/augustdyno36of451200x80.jpg
LED Licence plate lights = make sure you get the R-dash no error licence plate lights. Personally, I had T10 wedge bulbs which were CANBUS no errors and they were fine but seems like everyone else had problems? I too have changed to the R-dash/Pyspeed no error ones and theyre nice and white and bright ;)
Heres a pic of them installed on my R

Awesome information dude!! :D
On the Carbon fibre, I'm definitely not going to get crappy "paste on" carbon tape. I going to try and get them custom fabricated copies of the original inserts with High Gloss Black Carbon. Just need to find a company that either is making them or can make them. Found a place in QLD http://lsm.net.au/ who do custom fabrication, however they were nice enough to call to tell me they thought it would cost a lot! LOL The search continues!
Will definitely look into your other recommendations. I love your pic of the tail lights and Licence plate, and the Nurburgring sticker!! Killer! :)
Cheers,

Vacuum infused dry carbon interior CF bits would def. cost quite a bit. that site does have some very nice examples though!

There is also that, but that looks cheap and tacky to me IMO. Personal preference. horizontal "slats" are further apart than the OEM pedals and the 2nd "footrest" isnt really a footrest and just makes it look really "busy" down there....

I bought a set of these myself. I can't fault them.
Perhaps the pic doesn't do them justice.
They are tops and I'm a fussy kent!

I also have the ones that Fab is referring to, they are shit hot, awesome finish and look factory once fitted. For the money you can't do better than these. The included instructions were also very detailed and helpful.
The OSIR ones are so thin, you can play drums with your feet when you tap them. Get them if you'd like to add to the DAS-rattles. The horizontal inserts in the OSIR footrest is only made of plastic - do not be fooled by the rubber-look. A mate of mine was so disappointed when he received them.
I got the ones that Fab mentioned, and they are good quality s/steel. Best of all, they arrived within a day?? Paid @ 11pm, shipped at 5am!!!! WTF?? Who ships that quickly?! LOL Thumbs up!

YEP! if you want one with your specs than expect to wait at least 6 months.
but if you're lucky enough to pick one that hasn't been snapped up yet then lucky you!!
