Fairfax had a story yesterday on the styling direction of the US 2011 Jetta sedan and coupe.
Some interesting pics, too. The message is that Jetta will go 'coupy' like the Merc SLS and its big brother, Passat CC.

Brace yourselves for another coupe with more than two doors.

Volkswagen’s next-generation Jetta is set to join the growing band of four-door cars that adopt a sloping rear roofline. The model, known internally as the New Compact Sedan (NCS), will follow the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLS and its bigger brother, the Passat CC.
The range will also include a traditional two-door coupe for a model that is crucial to Volkswagen’s progress in the US. The coupe version was previewed by the German car maker’s 2010 Detroit motor show concept, the New Compact Coupe (NCC).
The coupe has been designed primarily for the North American market, though VW is considering the variant for other markets.
The sixth-generation Jetta is due to go on sale in 2011 and will be slightly longer and wider than the current model that’s based on the Golf. VW insiders also say the cabin will also be given greater differentiation to ensure it is regarded as more of a stand-alone car rather than a ‘Golf with a boot’.

(Standard 16" Jetta wheels... WAY too small!)

(I think it's a bit boring and derivative of an older BMW coupe, but nice CC style wheels!)
