I'm interested to know what sort of life people are getting out of their disc pads?

Whilst having an oil and filter change done at 55,000K, I asked the service guys to check the condition of the brake pads. I was pleased to learn they had approx. 50% wear, front and rear. I could realistically expect go to 80,000 or more before I'd have to look at fitting new pads.

For a reasonably heavy car, this surprises me. What sort of life are other forum members getting?

I usually get very long life from my pads because of driving manual. I Combine brakes & clutch modulation 95% of the time.

I usually sell my cars before 60,000kms so I've never changed pads.

Sorry about that. Pads, not discs.

so awesome... suprised you got that many, you would almost need a parachute to pull your beast...

I am at 84,000km and still on the og pads... i was pretty worried when the dealer said they have heaps of life left at the last service, but then got another opinion and they were right... Hwy driving is the main factor...

Well, looks like long pad life is the norm then. Excellent.

Hey Chris, I'm at 63K and my fronts are still in good shape (about 50%, so essentially the same as you)

My rears are new, as the whole of my rear brakes were replaced under warranty about 18 months ago. (disc, calipers, pads, lines, and brake cylinder)

Having said all that I'll prolly be going for new pads soon as I'm sick of the dust (oh, the humanity!)

Any recommendations forum members???...whose happy with their dustless pads and what are youse usin' ?
