Hi guys,

yes i believe its about time i started a thread for my car, i guess so people know which car is mine at meets and all that sorta stuff:p

so yea got this car for christmas last year, my first ever car. Second hand, ex company car with 57000km's on the clock. Looks abused inside and in some corners outside. Never planned on getting one of these because i thought they were ugly and looked like a whale, now i kinda like it though :) Very glad i didnt end up getting a commodore since i can barely afford fuel for this LOL.

so yea this is what it looked like the first 2 days i had it..

http://www.abload.de/img/img_3493copyxhqks7mi.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/img_3480copy6clfp7ms.jpg

got storage?

http://www.abload.de/img/img_3481copyjc3lq7ox.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/img_3485copyoisyf71r.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/img_3490copygg3g07vg.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/img_3491copyiika375l.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/img_3488copy6e9it723.jpg

So yea as you can see its pretty granny spec, since it was a company of course it has no fancy extras:(

So after two days of owning it, i just couldnt bare the sound of the stock system, there was NO bass whatsoever, so i got this:

http://www.abload.de/img/167412_486463014241_78d776.jpg

800W Schneider Sub and 600W Schneider Amp which is under the drivers seat. It might not be a known brand, but it does the job, and that job isnt exactly bad either:D

So after this nothing happened for a while, i then got bored, and did this, inspired not by the GTI but someone else's Corolla.

http://www.abload.de/img/img_3908efriv70q.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/img_39093emmj7nm.jpg

I am still deciding on whether to keep this or not, its not painted on its actually just pinstriping tape:)

Then again a whole lotta nothing until i decided to jump on the HID bandwagon. Got myself a set of 6000K HIDs from eBay for 80$. Were a bitch to install, cut my hand while reaching into the engine bay, and they flicker. Then one stopped working because a wire wasnt plugged in correctly, and just today after the meet the other one stopped working for a reason i have yet to discover. Oh and i also bought LED parkers off ebay :)

http://www.abload.de/img/img_4263copyxf7ql7u7.jpg

I was told installing those parkers would take 10min, i took about 4 hours. Reason being i dropped one of the parkers INSIDE the headlight and had to shake it out again. Then when i plugged it in it didnt work, then tried taking it back out again and GUESS WHAT i dropped it again. But now they work. Better than my HIDs. FML.

Some artsy pics while nothing happened..

http://www.abload.de/img/img_4279copyfghaz7j4.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/img_4280copy4ij1475n.jpg

Then i sort of decided that i had to choose between a style or theme to go with....my choices were either the european Rat look, with the rusty hood and roof rack etc. just rolling on steelies, or racing style with light weight black wheels and black roof and red racing seats and and and.

Photoshopped it up and liked it, but didnt like the practicality..

http://www.abload.de/img/img_3485copycopyncqcx7x4.jpg

Then one day i got the chance to test fit some Volk Racing CE28N's on my car, and i'm glad i did. But took me ages to get the money together. So while i was saving up, decided to take my scratched hub caps off and roll on steelies, kinda going with that european rat look. Steelies got boring after a while so i did this, yes ive seen it on other cars but they sorta had more dish and more rim.

http://www.abload.de/img/picture018-48keh9f7a9.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/picture021-50wchyq7qx.jpg

But then FINALLY after several months i get my stuff sorted and bang! new wheels! Genuine 17" Volk Racing CE28N's. very pleased, love the look of them. I personally think i couldnt have chosen better ones:)

http://www.abload.de/img/img_5671-60eiqqj7g7.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/img_5691-5qiyo97c3.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/a73eff2a87j1.jpg

This is how it stands today, some of you might have seen it at the meet. :)

http://www.abload.de/img/img_6293b70fz74c.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/img_629007q6c7wb.jpg

So my current list of mods:

-800W Schneider Subwoofer
-600W Schneider Amplifier
-6000K HID Bulbs (currently broken)
-LED Parking/Position Lights
-Red Grill Surround
-Half Debadge (SECA and Ascent badge, dont want people to know i have the cheapest model corolla out there lol)
-Removed Mud Flaps (dont know if this counts as mod, i just add it so the list is longer)
-17" Volk Racing CE28N in Matt Black

next mod will definitely be new springs, just so it sits nice and flush, its sorta flush now just not in terms of height lol. So yea thats everything :) Thanks for looking :p already have the springs sitting in the garage, ~40mm lower.

nah i just bought it there because the dealer is known for giving good discounts :) Id really like more than a 40mm drop, thinking about getting them reset to 50mm all round.

SO MANY PEOPLE ON HERE ARE SOOO POSITIVE.
Not sure if want.
If it wasn't an auto, I would respect your decision to mod this thing a whole lot more.
And I'm glad you've only modded this thing on aesthetic value.

It's a clean car.
Please keep it that way.

Toyotas are the worst drivers cars EVER! I'm driving a Camry currently and I think i could enjoy public transport more....
Sorry but if I was you I would of sold it and brought something better!
The grill looks cool tho

yea the manual goes so much better than the auto, i just didnt have a choice since my license at the time only allowed for an automatic car. i will most likely not do any major performance mods unless i have a shitload of money at some stage and ill swap the engine from an aurion lol.

the wheels did a lot in terms of looks, it looks butt ugly stock lol.

i cant sell it because its still being financed. sure toyotas are on the slow side and look cheap on the inside, but theyre still not bad. not sure about your camry but the corolla isnt really bad in corners especially when lowered and a few other things installed for handling...in the corners they can be just as good as a Skyline or even better, its just on the straights lol.

oh yea gonna lower it this week hopefully :)

Liking this Seb,

I think its pretty urban cool for a first car ! The old Rolla's aint so bad and are relatively robust for the size of them.

Liking the wheels. Keep your steelies as your winter set :p

Cool photos too mate. You have a good eye. Still keep looking at that C63 you snapped in Berry and the Rod....very nice dude !

everyone is entitled to their opinion, although as my mother used to say...

Good on you Seb for getting your hands dirty on your first car - i like the red strip and the wheels look great!

You will look back in 20 years and smile about the pleasure your first car brought you :)

I saw a modified Corolla sedan on the weekend - looked really good (tastefully modded and not over the top). Your car looks good Seb - i wish i had a near new / low km car as my first car. Consider yourself lucky. Good to see your not afraid to do things a little differently with your checkered wheels etc. Keep it up.

Pictures of inspiration.

Rollas have potential. Since you have the wheels, a rear hatch spoiler, side skirts and front lip will make it that tad more JDM!!

thinking of going air suspension. bag kits are cheap as because the chassis is the same as the Scion xB/Toyota Rukus which is popular in the US. would i still be able to run the car on the track?

And if bags, then also rotiforms. and roof racks. haters gonna hate.

You could run on the track, but it goes against the whole idea of bagging doesn't it?

why does it go against the whole idea? i want bags so my car will be stupidly low but still adjustable. but i dont want to lose the ability to take it on a track day. does handling become noticeably shitter?

From what I've heard, in an every day driving scenario they're awesome! You couldn't tell the difference between them and OEM springs/shocks, and you'll have the advantage of pimp adjustabilty, but I tend to think that if you're pushing really hard ie: on a track, they might not hold up as well. I also know that some tracks won't allow bags to run, but this is OS and I don't know if this is the case in Oz :)

from my understanding yes, when put under such force like tracking a car airbags just dont seem to be able to cut it, if your planning on tracking the rolla, then do it now and have alittle bit of fun, then put the air bags on save for a bit wait till your on your opens and get a turbo rear wheel drive car for track, the amount of fun you will have will be major in comparison plus you would have an awesome looking daily with an air bagged rolla

hmm well track days are sorta expensive anyways haha. the bag kits are actually cheaper than what you pay for a kit for the MKV golf which is what got me onto the idea in the first place. bagged rolla with rotiforms :)

this corolla needs a 3.2 V6 engine

Seby123
17-04-2012, 12:46 AM
3.5L Kerem. i have that on my mind aswell. they sell them in japan under a different name with the 3.5L v6 you find in the Aurion :)

and Adam that isnt for my engine, thats for the previous rolla.

still not sure if i want to sacrifice handling, will probably wait til im off my Ps and bored of coilovers haha
