The stubby antenna's are a lot nicer (I think) than the longer stock VW antennas.
Just depends if the original owner bought a decent stubby antenna or a cheap chinese knock off...

Quick update -

Over the last week i have been blasting up and down the hills around kinglake etc to get a feel for the 32's capablities, like most of you (that haven't gone the FI route) I didn't buy the 32 to get massive numbers so my goal is to get a nice balance of GO and handling, needless to say I have been really inspired by Justin's build thread and it has given me so much inspiration :)

Suspension - KW V3: Question for the folks in Melbourne is it cheaper to just source these from OS(if so can you recommend the online retailer) or is there somebody local who can do good prices on these?

Wheels - SSR TYpe-F Euro : I have been stewing over wheels for days!! Trying to find something that looks nice but also reduces unsprung weight. Initially I really really wanted the Advan RZ's as they look really agressive and also drop a sh1t load of weight from stock, however I don't want to step on Justin's toes with that one so I decided on the SSR TYpe-F Euro.
I am however still undecided if i want to go 18x8 (7mm wider than stock @ approx 8.07kg) or 19x8.5 (19mm wider than stock @ approx 8.89kg).

This guy is running 18's but they are a staggered setup using wobble bolts to support 5x114.3

19" for show, 18" for go.

Stick with 18's IMO.
As for KW V3 I believe I saw them on NAmotorsports (U.S. website) for something like $2,299. When you consider shipping cost (they are heavy!) and import tax/duty then I think the saving would be maybe $200 at most over a local supplier which would give you warranty and peace of mind.

Thanks CSR, i tend to agree with you there re sizes 18's are cheaper, weigh less, more range of rubber selection and still look pretty horn as per the pic above :)

Re Coilovers, I completely forgot about import taxes etc that will bump it up and the cost of shipping them.. so yes local might be the way to go. I did a bit of searching on the forum but couldn't really come up with who the best regarded VW specialist in Melbourne.. lots in SYD like ramspeed etc but in Melb not as many. Who do you guys recommend for installation and dialing everything in to my preferences?

thezoneR32 - I'll do my very best to outdo you!! hehe :) Those wheels really fill out the arches! nice.. i think i'll need to put some spacers on the SSR's though as they only come in a +50 offset for the 18x8 fitment :(

Ended up going for CSR's KW V3 coilovers, YAY.

So they will be installed once his clubsports land. Wheel shopping continues as i'm still not 100% on the SSR's.

So after futher discussions with jdmconcept who sell the SSR's i discovered that the the colour which i photoshoped above isn't avialable in the EURO fitment, they EURO fitment is more a chrome/silver colour, boo!!

So as a result I have just ordered a set of ADVAN RZ's 18x8 in hyper silver :D I have to wait 8-10 weeks for them to come from Japan though.

Thanks Sam, after spending that much coin on wheels i don't plan to change the finish on them. I went for silver for several reasons
1. A lot of ppl are running black on Blue now :) so silver is the new black (lol in my mind anyways)
2. The silver matches the OEM grille accent colour which i like :)

Thanks boys, i have been tossing up weither i want to go with the brushed silver mirror covers to match the front end.. we'll see :)

only one offset avaibile in 5x112 in these which is +48, i've never been a fan of spacers but if I'm feeling game i may through a spacer on to make it +35 :D we'll see.

So yesterday i visited RTR with CSR(Clem), Clem got his Clubsports installed and I obtained his like new V3's (RTR were even kind enough to give them a clean for me lol).

Ride height is currently what Clem previously had it at while rebound/dampening is set to the recommened KW spec for the moment. I'll drive it for the next week and see how i feel and take it back for some minor adjustments and maybe some moar low :p

VERY impressed with how firm they are but still totally drivable day to day, i have had my fair share of TEINS on previous cars and these just stomp them! A drive through the Yarra Valley on teh weay home confirmed it was money well spent!

RTR who did the install - couldn't recommend them enough, they'll be getting more of my business. Also really nice down to earth guys :)

Next mods - Paddle install and rear wiper delete. Advan RZ's still about 4 weeks away :(

Blake....... gloss black wheels on any Deep blue pearl R32 don't look good at all, Gloss black wheels suit UG, BMP and RS. The best combination on DBP I believe is Silver wheels, brushed Aluminium mirror caps and the OEM grille FTW :).

My theme was always going to be silver on blue, if i went gloss black I'd need to do the mirrors and grille and I cbf with that :)

Having said that they don't come in gloss black just gunmetal.

Really just depends on the rest of the cars "theme" i rekon. If u have the silver grill then silver wheels perhaps matches better.
Whereas a black rim is better suited to a black front grill and rear valance.

hey clem, nah not since we were at RTR.. still the same height. Just needs some camber up front as the rears don't scrub anymore since i removed the stock wheels/tyres from the boot haha.

Rob - set to "low" lol, i didn't dial in the height but basically the tyre sits pretty flush with the top of the gaurd. Rebound and dampening are currently at KW factory spec.

How are you going to get camber? I think if you get the TT-RS alloy arms it adds a bit of camber, look into it I forgot now but was interesting at the time.

Milltek Non-Res CatBack went in, loving the sound very worthwhile mod!
Recently bought a Haldex Gen 2 + switch off a forum member which should arrive this week, can't wait to slap that in and leave it in RACE mode :p

Next mods to come will be some EFFING tint!! i'm getting burnt like a kent! i was trying to rock the clean look no tint look...... but i need tint i have decided! I will probably also loose the stickers, not feeling the look really and will just go back to clean and sticker free :)

Haldex will be left on 'RACE' all the time :) The switch has been neatly placed in the centre console.

I have the front sitting at home, Dan and I at the time were worried it might turn into Mr Plough running the front Anti-Roll bar. Have you driven Rear by itself and then both front and rear to compare?

You definitely just introduced me to an item I have been wanting to get sorted for a while. The OEM Audi security bolts are fine, until you upgrade your wheels then you're pretty much skunked. So I know that for you guys JDMyard distributes them, but who is the actual manufacturer of the bolts? Project Kics? Any links to help a brutha out? :)
