Yesterday I headed out to Erwin's place to give his R32 a Stage 1 exterior paint enhancement.

Over all the car was really clean, had very little paint contaminants and you could tell this car was well looked after.

Process was:
Wash
Clay
De-wax with 50/50 IPA solution
Stg 1 polish with Menzerna PO203s and white LC pad (rotary)
Foam wash and rinse
LSP - Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant
Tyres - Clean Plus Tyre Shine
Trims - Prima Nero

Plenty of beading which means signs of wax

Capercat's daily MK4 Tint & Machine polish.

Tint - Johnson Greystone 30% Carbon Film
http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp229/Reflect_Effect/Capercats%20Golf%20tint%20and%20polish/DSC06422.jpg

http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp229/Reflect_Effect/Capercats%20Golf%20tint%20and%20polish/DSC06421.jpg

Rocco also requested a machine polish for his MK4.
He was kind enough to do the prep work (clay) so all I needed to do was give it a wash, dry and I started with a single step polish by rotary with Menzerna PO203s and white LC pad.
Rocco then sealed it up himself with some Zaino.

Couple quick shots straight after polish

Glad your happy with the work Roger.

Roger had his new Skoda Octavia booked in for a New Car Treatment and Tints.

Window tint - Johnson Marathon Metallic Film 30%

Exterior/leather/fabric Protection - Toughseal

Car was washed, clayed ad interior vacuumed prior to applying the protection to ensure that all surfaces were free of contaminants.

Tyres were also dressed in Clean Plus Tyre Shine.

Nice job, Skodas are cool.

The fabric/carpet protection is worthwhile do you need to reapply it or does it last forever (ie 3-5 years)?

Dave i only hope they prepared my car properly before doing the paint protection (it's got 'Autogard' inside and out). Not sure how to look after it now as far as clay/waxing.

Also mate do you know how to get rid of the light scratches on the glossy B-pillars?

Ps. Roger did they come with those mats? We just get the plain black ones.

The RS comes with black ones with the light grey edging. :)

Superskoda also RHD ones with red edging.

It's also nice that they moved the handbrake to the correct side :)

Oh Sorry mate.

I remember reading this but forgot to reply.

There are plastic polishes out there that will do the trick. Im sure the Mothers brand carries something.

If you cant find anything then a medium to fine paint polish will do the trick.

Not everyone has a garage you know. Also parking on the street can be demoralising for washing it b/c you know that overnight the condensation will make the car dirty again.

Ben, I park my MKIV outside like all my 2nd cars. No excuses, this is an example of neglect.

At least they sent it to Dave for correction. And besides I don't really care except stating the obvious.

Yeah that car looked pretty neglected like ita never been washed.. Just lazyness.

The car belongs to the father of a regular client and he convinced his old man to get it detailed.

Usually once the owners see how clean their car can look after a good detail they tend to change their habits for the better and start to look after their vehicle more.

Hopefully it is the case with this one :D

I left mine in the only park I could find when i went down to Melbourne this week. Came back and it looked as bad, if not a bit worse than that. My brand of sap was a bit runnier so there's splodges everywhere. Bloody heartbreaking as I know this is going to kill me to get it right and I have another trip planned before I can get to it. WOW!. That's a real mess!. This reminds me of an incident in Europe. Ended up in some small provincial town in the middle of France. To my surprise, the little motel offered car cleaning service of a different kind..The local chickens seemed to have loved picking the locust off the font of a 911, completely covered in bugs.

Once upon a time chickens did that to my car aswell. I booted them away fairly swiftly though. Reckon they'd do more damage than the locusts!

Picked my car up from Dave earlier today after having had the following done:

Deluxe detail
Stage 2 machine polish
Exterior glass polished
Leather care and protection
Full opti-coat treatment - all body panels and all glass, as well as the head/tail lights.

I have to say, the car is immaculate - Dave really surpassed himself here.. Another extremely happy customer.

Let's see how the opti-coat holds up :) I'm expecting good things.

Cheers Dave :) I need to do a bit of a photo shoot myself I think ;)

Can't stop running the back of my hand over the paintwork.. Just feels like glass. I mean, I can get it pretty decent on my own with some elbow grease, but it's just amazing how good it is..

Lovely work, thank you again. I've already had more than one person say it looks like the car is brand new.

Top work Dave.

Thanks. It cleaned up really nicely.

How did you clean the engine bay Dave?
Degreaser and pressure washer. I covered the air intake and any electrics that might have been a concern with the water and cleaned those areas after with APC, small brush and compressed air.

Scirocco R New Car Treatment with PPF

Recently carried out a new car protection package on this green Scirocco R.

Vehicle was first prepared with a full exterior wash, de-wax and clay.

Then we moved onto applying the Ventureshield PPF standard front kit. This consists of the full front bar, bonnet strip, leading edge of guards and side mirrors.

Bonnet strip

Leading edge of guards
http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/2921/dscn1540j.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/163/dscn1540j.jpg/)

Owner also requested for the PPF to be applied to the lower part of the front bar and full side skirts which had to be custom fitted.

Bottom of front bar

Side skirt needed to be done in 2 pieces due to the large angle on it
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/3183/dscn1542qq.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/18/dscn1542qq.jpg/)

Once the PPF was done the exterior of the car was wiped down with Isopropyl alcohol and Opti-coat was applied to the paint, glass, plastics and also the Ventureshield.
