I finally managed to buy a Mk2 this morning. Beautiful car so i decided to snatch it up. Brought it in and gave it a thorough clean and detailing though i havent managed to polish or wax it yet, no time.
A little info bout this car:
-1986 Mk2 GTI
-Swapped to a ABF 2.0L 16V
-Fitted with big bumpers and RHD wipers
-Recaro seats front and back >D though the driver side has a worn waist support
-Lowered but im not sure by how much
Lots of other stuff here and there but just a few too many to mention. I was astonished at how immaculate this car was, the body work is just to clean except for this dent on the passenger door and stone chips:(
Here are some photos...

These were taken with my phone so they arent as nice. And i would have taken more photos but i didnt have the time. Ordered a few parts already for the fun of it. Hopefully i can post better photos of the GTI soon!
Man, that looks really good. Awesome buy. Welcome.
Congrats and welcome.. Hot little GTI

Need to solve a problem that im having with the engine though, the throttle response is a bit delayed for some reason. Not sure what is the problem but i'll have to find out what is the culprit since its affecting its drivability. :(

Sweet Mk2! Do you know who did the 16V swap? At first I thought it was Matt from CamdenGTI but then it has the big bumpers... I remember the one I saw had small bumpers.

Previous owner told me that it was done at Camden GTI definitely did a good job since the car is so clean.

Congrats on the purchase. An absolute steal at that price, given the interior & engine. What are your plans for it?

Same engine. That first one got written off and it was re-shelled into this car.

Well, as of now my plan is to keep it and just work on what ever i can. Plan on modifying it in an affordable way and bit by bit so i might be posting the work done on it here but i think it might take a while b4 i get it properly stanced and tuned without any compromise. Hopefully. Ill just see what comes my way

Got a pair of crystal tail lights to fit on the car today. Lenses need to be polished a bit but nothing too troublesome. :D

Some more photos after i did a bit of detailing on the hood, went over it with a clay bar some wax. First time using a clay bar and i was amazed at how smooth the hood was after that >D

The dirty area left behind from removing the tail light lenses.

Bit of cleaning around that area.

The original Hella lights are actually very new. I was surprised by just how untouched that are, no scratches or anything.

Looks more modern with the crystal lenses on, only thing i dont like about them is that the build quality isnt as nice as the Hella light so the edges of the lenses isnt completely flush with the plastic shell.

Probably wont be doing any work for the next 2-3 weeks due to exams but i will be recieving a pair of clear indicators for the front bumpers some time next month. Also planning on getting a set of G60 wheel arch trims and hopefully a nice set of 16 inch rims to complete the look.

I was looking around and i was considering to get these at some point and install them on my MK2 though its going to take a while to save up that much for these parts.

I'm not very sure about them but i wont be getting them anytime soon anyways. Just a consideration towards my future plans.

If you're after chassis stiffening, I'd suggest going for uprated mounts and bushings first, then a rear sway bar and/or coilovers (if they're not already fitted on the car).
