Very early days !!
Give it time, I think one of the key to making this forum work is contribution from all members.

Hi guys

Marty im from Perth (swanbourne). Just purchased my dads 08 GT sport TDi. Probably get a tune for it once the new car warranty runs out, unless a tune won't affect this?

The car is stock standard, fully optioned but without the sunroof. Its white in colour, great car to drive. Previously owned a modified forester, and coming from that to the golf, it still feels like a great car to drive.

Cheers

Great choice of car Marty and welcome on board...

In regards to warranty VW will usually not cover -

Direct problem related to modification but will honour all warranty work unrelated.

So to answer your question you should be fine..

Sweet action, looks like she will be a stocker for a while, but will still enjoy it none the less. I must say its a totally different car compared to the subaru, fwd is quite fun and the torque from low down in the revs is rather cool.

Hello, another Martin from WA here :)
Thanks for the referral, Frenchie. It was most timely!

I drive an 09 Pirelli GTI in graphite blue with a few mods from APR, KW, BFI and Work.
Just picked up a 200sx for track duties, but still love my golf, you can't beat refinement with power.

Hi guys,

Steve checking in. Representing the mature section of the demographics.

Running an 08 .:R32, DSG, dark dark tint, flapper mod and too many kms on the clock.

Referred by Tinto (cheers mate). Hopefully this site will be a bit more interesting than some other sites that have turned to garbage over the last couple of days.

Good to see some familiar faces.

Hi mark, im pretty sure i have seen you driving around the area before. Love the BBS rims, had a set in 19" on my old commodore :| Would love to get some on my new car, but will wait a while as its just about to cop some new rubber anyway. Once factory warranty is out i might do a few little things and try and hit the track and have some fun :D

Do any other WA members track their dubs? I used to track my forester out at AHG/RAC

zz2
03-03-2010, 10:50 PM
cheers mate! we have done a couple at AHG track days but no one has organised anything lately. i would love to get it onto a propper track like barbagello sometime in the future though.

in the mean time im thinking of organising a WA VW photoshoot/ get together. we have done them before.. usually go around UWA and the city at night getting cool night time shots...

ml16
04-03-2010, 02:21 PM
Oh sweet as, well i'm keen for a skidpan day at AHG, or even the long track during the week if i get a day off uni/work.

Those night shots are awesome, would be happy to come along to a shoot/get together. My old man might drive mine a few times here and there until his Tiguan arrives too. I'm going to get some [XX XX WA] plates for it white on black background to match the colour scheme, might be a bit more recognisable then!

Hi all,

My name is Hooman. I live in Perth and just took delivery of my new GTI. I bought it as part of the 50% Government stimulus package just as a drive car but I love it so much I have not driven my other car at all.

Love to meet some of you crazy VW heads and go for a cruise. Sounds like you all have a bit of fun.

Hooman

P.S. this is not my first VW, I owned a VR6 in the late 90's and also am now restoring a 1967 Split screen Kombi.

The no limits track nights are on every month at barbagallo for those chasing a track fix.
Numbers are limited(but they are struggling to fill the numbers they need!), I'm hoping to be headng along in the 200sx this month.

*sigh*..... Chris wanted to run the .:R at the track....wonder if she is still keen.

Standby.

ml16
08-03-2010, 11:44 AM
Can't get to no limits nights, i train for hockey on thursday nights. If you see a black XT forester, that is my mate Burke. It has some decent power and puts some of the other cars on the track to shame. PB is a 58 around the short track i believe.

Ill be up for RAC skidpan or track there. Otherwise too busy with work/uni/sport on weekdays :(

Paul_OH
11-03-2010, 02:21 AM
I'd be keen for another AHG/RAC/DTEC track day probably in May/June when the weather's cooler and before the rain - the TSI despises the heat!
