Here we are, for those of you that have not heard of Capristo Exhaust.

Capristo Exhaust systems will take your sports car to the next level.
Capristo Exhausts are renowned worldwide for their quality, design and enhanced sound.

An increase in horsepower and sound through more efficient fume dispensation is experienced with these systems.

In my case 24HP and 50NM.

Which over the next few weeks, will be getting my R32 dynoed and will be posting results.

A quick background on Capristo exhausts.
Capristo exhaust are made of T309 grade stainless steel which has a higher temperature resistance than the commonly used 304, found in most exhausts today.
T309 is comparable to inconel which is a material used in Formula One exhausts. They are built on state of the art production machines in Germany in order to accurately attain perfect fitting.

And trust me when I say perfect fit.!!

All systems are precision made to be installed in its existing mounting points. There are various versions available from racing to valve systems. A remote to open the valves at a touch of a button is optional on some systems.

Exhaust was supplied by Wal from Euroexhausts (http://www.euroexhausts.com.au/page4.php), great person to deal and no problems with delivery.

Content of package:

Catback
Dual pipes
Control box, hose, cables.
Clamps
Remote control

Dimension of the Exhaust:

The tips have a diameter of 100 mm.
The pipes have a diameter of 2 x 54 mm.
This comes up to a pipe of about 78 mm diameter.

Warranty of the Exhaust:

2yrs guarantee on gas valves.
And their patent-registered system allows to recondition this part at a price of 20 Euro.

On the exhaust system (muffler) there is a 5yrs guarantee.
Which means the repair or the replacement of any defective parts.

With the valvetronic system there is no drone inside the cabin, at any stages of different modes selected which I can comfirm. Well done.

Now

First impressions looking at this exhaust is DAMN, this is a serious piece of art work. Too nice to be under the car.
The exhaust was put together with such meticulous precision.
Simply amazing and well done to Capristo and their team.

Installation was completed by Ramspeed (http://www.ramspeed.com.au/), excellent work as always by Thomas and Henry.

Capristo Exhausts can be ordered directly from Ramspeed, best to call Ramspeed and speak with Thomas to have the best fitted price.
As they have now completed Australia's first installation.
Ramspeed are well aware of Capristo products and are in relation with Capristo HQ.

It took Ramspeed 4.5hrs to install. Another Aussie first and highly recommended workshop. Thank-you
I dropped the car off over the holidays and off it went for some minor surgery.
First they had to cut OEM exhaust at Y pipes and clamp dual Capristo pipes, that was the easy part.
Next out came the cables and wiring. I'm lost so don't ask me anything on that step.
Lastly the control box was positioned in the boot next to spare wheel, away from harm and eyes. Very nicely done.

Time to pick the car up.

Smiling, I arrived at Ramspeed, eager to take my R and turn the ignition on.

Quick chat with Thomas, went over a few details, impressed he was.

Exhaust set on Cruise mode I turned the ignition on and WOW such RAW sound.

I'm thinking this is Crazy, this sound coming from the exhaust was just like an amplified German car on steroids. Not only the sound was improved but the tone, the character was not lost but enhanced.
I don't how Capristo and team have done it but respect to you and your products.

You have indeed set the highest level of Sports Exhaust.

Anyway to finish up. I have noticed consistent gains from top to bottom,

Any plans to whack on some high flow cats Frenchie? I'm trying to convince Suga to do it! Might only make 1-2kw but it might make more sound (due to less restriction) and hey, a gain is a gain!

Not at the moment, I have heard mixed reviews with cats....
Would hate to ruin that already beautiful sound!?
What I will do is custom build a re enforcement plate to weld onto my middle muffler, almost pierced last week!! I was sweating.. Metal is quite soft in comparison..

If anything I am contemplating GruppeM but still 50/50 with it..

Fair call on the cats. Test pipes are often used in race applications, all they do is get rid of the cats, increase flow and make the car a shitload louder!!!!!!! I assume getting high flow cats would make the R32 a little louder for sure.

Maybe Suga should start a GruppeM review thread. I personally think it's a little exxy and sadly there's hardly any sound in comparisson to a short ram or CAI which uses an exposed pod... but one thing is for sure, it's all quality and you will see and feel gains.

Through cats would be lovely :P

I believe removing the cats gives the really grunty/raspy sound we all love and removes some of the drone that we all hate (especially from cheapo exhausts)

PS: Frenchie those pics are lovely but why are they so small? It's like viewing lo-res images of hot naked celebs... so frustrating!

Apparently my pics were too big so had to compress file, still working out the sizes :)

800 pixels wide is always a good starting point. 800x600.

Deleting cats is also illegal in AU. I love this exhaust. Kudos to Frenchie for pioneering it for AU.

Maybe this are stupid questions,

what about the batteries on the valves?,
how long they last?
and how do you replace them?
when this happens do the Capristo goes to cruise mode?

Cheers!

M4RK0 the unit that controls the valve plugs into DC (hard wired into the car).
