if anyone who lives somewhere near northbridge/mosman in sydney is willing to help out, we would be very thankful.

Cheers

Scotty, why not go and buy a couple of pairs of these stands: 2/3 off, down to $19.99 a set!

Then you don't have the hassle in future. :)

If you are looking, have a check of the trolley stands and let us know if you find a deal. My neighbour's one is currently stuffed.

Check the nearest SCA for stock, but both the stands and the smaller jack are dirt cheap. In price and probably quality!
Stands 3000kg: $19.97 (2/3 off)... http://media.supercheapauto.com.au/sca/images/thumbs/CS163629-thumb.jpg
Jack 1400kg hydraulic $23.94 (1/2 off)... http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/SCA-Trolley-Jack-1400kg-Hydraulic.aspx?pid=163626#details

I'm tempted but don't know if the jack will break on first use! :)

I found the nearest shop by plugging in my postcode: http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/store-locator.aspx?postCode=2120

(I have never shopped there, so can't recommend these!)

These prices sound good but i only really need it for a day... still open to borrowing to save $105

You can drive to Pennant Hills for them but I think two trips could possibly cost almost as much as the stands. :)

Good luck with the request. Maybe you could collect them from someone at either the Dyno Day tomorrow or the GTG drive the day after.

How many axle stands do we need scott? Maybe it's worth buying them. $50 each doesnt sound TOO bad :P

those stands sold out quick! at my local store anyway

OP: they come in pairs by the way, that would be $40 if you needed stands...

they are certainly worthwhile to have when changing oils for eg as a safety precaution

I was hoping to have a hydraulic jack and two stands for just $43.91 but Parramatta North and nearby places were sold out. I hope to have them once SCA gets new stock. They did a raincheck. :)

Apparently the SCA cheapie 3000kg stands are very tall, so your widowmaker jack will barely get your car up to that level. So I was told yesterday by someone with these stands.

oh crap they do rain checks? is the promo still on? thanks for the headsup heheh

nah they're pretty much standards size stands i think, but i use a 2 tonne garage jack so no troubles there...
