Newbie here. Did a search and found nothing.
My daughter's '93 GL has an interesting problem.
The driver-side window has a mind of its own. Especially likes to go down with out being told to do so. And usually, just before the rain comes.
After weeks of not working at all, yesterday it just went down all by itself just as she started the car.
I played with it some. Couldn't get it to go back up. Then discovered if I slipped my finger onto the window and pushed down, while engaging the "up" switch, I could make it go up! But after 10 seconds or so, it just went down again. Finally, out of frustration, we got it up and simply disconnect the multi-pin connector in the door jamb.
Could it be the switch? Is there a computer somewhere (like on my Volvo) that might be controlling this?

BTW, I had a similar problem with the rear window. Wouldn't move, but I could hear the motor clicking. Removed the door panel and vapour barrier and got in there with a torx tool. Loosened the 4 bolts that hold the case to the motor rotor and "excercised" the switch. Got it working and slowly tightened up the 4 bolts while continuing to excersize the switch. I've had to do this on more than one occasion. Something seems to be warped and this is the quick fix.

Thanks
