Hey, im looking to buy a stubby antenna for my 2001 mk4 vw golf but have heard some can produce poor radio quality. Just wondering if anyone knows or has a stubby antenna that has been working fine.
Much appreciated, Cam.

i bought the extendable stubby from ECS, it was better than the stubby i got off ebay. Having said that, replacing my headunit made reception improve and my extendable got snapped in the recent hailstorm in melbourne. So im back to using the horse whip again.

I've got a Sharon antenna/the shortest you can get of ecs and it's pretty good around town. Haven't gone far out of town yet though to test and I only loose reception Ina small low point on the freeway. Overall I'm happy as I'm using CDs mainly until I can afford a head unit for my iPod.

ALL shorter antennas will affect reception. Full stop.

Reception unaffected within Melbourne and country.

I have one on the R32....reception was dodgy in the northern regions of Perth (limestone belt) with a RCD300....but the RNS510 is significantly better
Put a stubby on the Polo (RCD510)..no signal degradation at all.
